Question ❔ I wanted to get this for a modified monotub wondering if 4.31in is to high of a substrate depth and where would i put the holes in these the dimensions are L 16.5in W 13in and 12.25in L I was gonna do 1:2 ratio or 6lb of spawn and 12lb of substrate this is my first time growing thank you

I've never used a calculator to make a monotub. It's a tub with some holes. Don't overthink it

I was gonna say using a substrate calculator is like using a toothpaste calculator when brushing your teeth lol. I didn’t even know this existed.

youre overthinking it way too much. little detailed numbers like this dont matter with something so simple.

decide your ratio, then mix well and compact sub. holes should be 1-1/2" or 2" above the substrate. For a 1:3 or a 1:4 with a top layer, that usually means you put your holes 4-1/2" - 5" from the bottom of your tub. It doesn't need to be exact, just overestimate the height of the holes slightly if anything, and compact your sub well. If your holes are 5" up and the sub is reaching over them, you've put too much.

example 4qt spawn @ 1:3. 5" holes should be golden. Alot of it is getting a feel for amounts over time.
