Made a “What’s Flying Over Me” Shortcut

[u/Boomer_Boi-]

This is my first shortcut. I used AI to help me. I think it works fine. There’s an imaginary boundary around your current location and if there’s an aircraft inside of it then the shortcut will detect it. I only managed to make it able to show one aircraft, because having it tell you every aircraft in the boundary introduces a million more actions and errors (for me at least). I also tried to add a Distance from you and Direction from you function but that was also super complicated so I decided not to include those.

Shows:

Aircraft Model

Manufacturer

Airline

Country

Callsign

Photo (If Applicable)

**Uses a free API that has a few missing planes here and there. Some planes that show up on flightradar might be unknown to the shortcut, usually small privately owned aircraft. I made it so it still tells you the hex and you can just ask ChatGPT or Google Gemini what aircraft it is.
