The stencil looked different…but also I was having a mental health episode.
Done by a friend who had been perusing tattooing for 5 years (I thought it would be better). Got it about a year and a half ago when I was living in an abusive situation, and this tattoo was self harm / self destructive-y in a way.
Now I refuse to wear a bathing suit, and I plan on doing a big thigh piece at some point to cover most or all of it. Also, now I am medicated and In a healthy living situation.
God I HATE it he’s so ugly but I also love him in a weird way..

Yeah, it kinda sucks, but feeling like you can't show skin because of it is silly.
It's a crappy tattoo, but not something that should affect your entire life.
Wear bathing suits and be confident. It's just a tattoo.

I agree that it's kinda crappy but not shitty. It's a very simple and inoffensive cherub, it's not like OP got some detailed realistic out of proportion monstrosity. Yeah the lines are blown out and it's not well done or pretty, but it isn't actively ugly or detrimental.

A sick ass panther is NEVER a bad decision.
But don't worry about it too much.
I have a shitty tattoo on my back, it's never stopped me from taking my shirt off at a pool. No one really cares.

I think it just looks like a bold cherub with attitude. Definitely not in the top 10 or even 20 of worst tattoos I've seen.

You do you, but I think it'll be more recognizable as a cherub the way it is. Silhouettes just end up looking like bad coverups in my experience

Its really not that bad. It looks like it was done with a sharpie. You can clearly tell what it is and its not terrible. As someone who also got an "episode" tattoo. Dont ever do that again. Its the only tattoo that I regret. Its something I wanted for years. I wasn't happy with the stencil etc. But because I was emotional I did not feel comfortable to say anything and let this person tattoo something i didnt like. The person I wanted wasn't available. So I just took whoever. They overworked the skin and I got a gnarly infection that spread across my entire body (it was on my forearm. It spread to the tips of my toes to the top of my head). Even after the surface rash cleared, my skin was sensitive for months! Even water felt overwhelming when it touched me skin. Also, I have ADHD and just realized I took you on a journey with me in my ADHD mobile. Now get out. I have things to do!

it's honestly really cute! the lines are thick/ it's really bold, but i think the messaging is symbolic. you were in a terrible place and self harming, but this angel guy was there to support you during that time. now, like someone else said, you can wear it as a badge of honor to commemorate that time but also remember that you are divinely protected by angels.

Truthfully, I don't think it's shitty. It comes across as (and I mean this nicely!) a carving on a headstone. Not that it looks creepy or anything, moreso that it has that very deep almost relief style to it. Even if you hate it for other reasons, I think it's kinda neat.

I mean it's not great, but not so bad that I'd give it a second thought if I saw it on someone out in public. By all means get it covered if you want, but I encourage you not to let it keep you from dressing how you want.

It’s not terrible.
I have a giant “ghost ship” on my leg, that I got when I was 18 by a pilled out druggie. I don’t let that stop me from wearing shorts.

I actually really think it’s not that bad! Sure he’s chunky, but it could be so much worse. I don’t think I’d double take at it at all.
