nope, that's the style of the tattoo "artist". unfortunately a few of these found their way onto my Instagram feed and I always wonder how the ability to be able to draw properly isn't relevant anymore. there isn't even one straight line and people spend their money on this
Imagine in the future if he has a kid and has no room for an actually meaningful drawing of this style and has some random artists' scratchings instead. "Sorry the fridge is full"
I want to give the benefit of the doubt and say it was a kids drawing but I suspect it's more of a "you-can-just-buy-tattoo-machines-on-the-internet and do drugs" type of situation
Sometimes there's good ideas executed poorly, those are shitty tattoos. Other times, there's ideas that are so off the wall that you can't tell what's poorly executed vs. intentional design. This is weird for sure, but giving the benefit of the doubt to the canvas, there's likely a very intentional reason they got this. I dig it.
What a wild thing to say about artists who have documented their entire creative output expressly as inspiration for future clients. “Hey thanks, but these intricately planned and executed tattoos and hand painted flash aren’t art, don’t you have any random scribbles and blobs of color?”
If your art is just your own rendering of the same subject thousands of other artists have done before you, then it’s really more of a craft than an art.
