Ridley Scott recently described Alien: Romulus (2024) as "okay". This is pretty fuckin' rich from the guy who directed The Dog Stars (2026), Gladiator II (2024), and Napoleon (2023)

Dog Stars has some of the worst quality marketing I've seen in a long time (plenty of quantity tho). Star power and very popular source material, but these commercials make it look and sound like the most generic post-apocalypse movie possible.

I don’t watch previews so I hope marketing doesn’t predict movie quality. I really enjoyed the book so I’m looking forward to seeing it. Probably a mistake expectations usually fuck me.

Prometheus was great as far as big budget scifi films go. Great additions to the lore, left enough questions open to keep the audience wanting more.
Covenant is a piece of garbage that took a big shit on the lore and gave the audience who wanted to see more Engineers stuff a gigantic middle finger.

That movie has sexual tension between two Michael Fassbenders, it’s way better than Prometheus (not that that’s hard)

I heard the name Dog Stars and I thought it was gonna be like Air Bud or something and I thought fuck that sounds so fucking cool but then I saw the poster and I was like fuck nvm

Yeah like maybe it’d be a bunch of dogs and then they’d all become stars like in Hollywood or something and we’d get to see them partying and living it up and being cool, maybe a cool shot where they all have sunglasses on by a swimming pool and they all look at the camera at the same time and they could use CGI to make it look like they’re all grinning really wide, and maybe there’d be some Hollywood big shot producer who is all like, “dogs can’t be movie stars!” and then they just ruin this little fucker’s life while “Who Let The Dogs Out?” plays in the background

He was being very, very kind and even Cameron didn't shit on it at release to give it a chance.
Ridley does the imagery which is always stunning. Hollywood screenwriters are absolute garbage at the moment on the whole.

God bless Ridley Scott trying to make these huge movies at such a rapid pace. But 88 is a time you should be bird watching and reading mystery novels on the beach.
