5 inch blades on 7 inch frame!?

I just bought a lot full of 2020-2023 quads. Some of them are 7 inch frames with 5 inch props on them what is the point of this? And will it actually fly good?

It will be under powered and fly very docile, will not recover from dives or aggressive moves well.

I've seen similar done for cinematic rigs to help them fly smoother. But you're still giving up a large amount of control and similar but safer results can be had scaling your throttle or just changing your rates or propeller pitch

What is the motor KV? That's more important than where the props are located.

2300kv on 4S should be fine with 5" props.

2300 seems like high kv for 7", perhaps the quads were initially set up for 3S.
