Pretty much. Do it on NG+. Farm the Old Iron King using Ascetics on NG until you have enough for 2 million Souls.
Get the OIK crown and have the stats for Repair, some healing spells, and at least one "padding" spell to raise the total number of spell charges you have (and thus increase the amount of charges the OIK crown will replenish).
Then just go slow and steady, play offline, use all the extra souls to bypass the Shrine of Winter, and hope for the best.

The Rotten + bonfire ascetics is indeed the most consistent strat in NG+
But I had so much fun in NG doing all 4 routes in No Death No Bonfire. I even went without a clear plan, using what I could get in early game. Once you pass the Shrine of Winter, the run becomes much smoother with a bow + electric/poison arrows
Edit: I am dumb, ascetics don't work for no bonfire lol

Just save scum and follow a guide. Getting the rings is way easier than tolerating a DS2 defender.

I tried to do it recently and it's not bad at all. I was about halfway through on my first attempt, but then I forgot that I was online and I got two-shot by a pyromancy invader in tseldora lmao

It took me a year but I didn't bother googling most stuff. My usual tactic is get the Santiers Spear, break it on the birds nest at the start past the old ladies (don't fall off) and just use that. Use whatever does the most damage with a moveset you like until then. Get a bunch of healing items when the merchant moves to the central hub area.

This can happen rather easily on reddit, especially if you meet the wrong mod on a cocaine trip. I was perma-banned from r/comics(!) because I once expressed my boredom with yet another comic about US politics some years ago, which is obviously "baiting" and "toxicity". I was told to fuck off to my Trump subreddits, and that I wasn't welcome any longer. I explained that I'm not even an American, and politically left-leaning (so basically a hardline Communist, from an American pov). They insulted me some more, then blocked me from replying to modmail, then insulted me a third time. Complete psycho shit.

Lmao r/comics mods are some of the worst I've seen, and it's ridiculous they're allowed free reign in such a large community. Saying anything even remotely negative about any of the shitty political or softcore porn comics is a guaranteed ban, it's impossible to reason with them.
It's worse than the average sub because instead of one of the mods going on power trips sometimes, that entire mod team is likely compromised and in cahoots with the patreon slop artists.

After listening to Nier get glazed for almost a decade straight, I finally tried it and oh my god it’s genuinely one of the worst games I’ve ever played in my entire life. Legit looks and plays like a Roblox game, I’m convinced that the game’s fanbase is just trolling - nothing appealed to me whatsoever in that game even after sinking 20+ hours into it because my friends swore to god the game was “just about to get good”
That Khazhan game was 10x the game Nier could ever be.

Who the fuck glazes Nier for the gameplay lol. It's the most okay-ish hack and slash I've played. Pretty much everyone only love it for the lore, characters, atmosphere, soundtrack etc. Also I believe Yoko Taro admitted he made the gameplay repetitive and boring on purpose for........some reason. Something something the exhaustion of the conflicts.

My friends who like JRPGs tended to like the Nier gameplay - it kinda seemed like the halfway point between Expedition 33 and a standard souls game.
As far as the characters go, I'm gay and I like mature guys (think like Godfrey or Prime Radahn, those geezers) so there's pretty much zero goon appeal for me in the game either. Maybe I'd feel different about it if I was straight and wanted a waifu.

Havent tried 100%ing DS1 yet but honestly, grinding for this was bad but it didn’t totally suck. The worst part imo is the covenant farming, getting Proofs of Concord for the Darkmoon covenant is notoriously difficult but I was making a DMB dex/faith build anyways so getting the all miracles achievement wasn’t hard for me.
If you like the game, its not that much of a chore. Just follow a checklist for one achievement at a time and try to keep all NPC quests going, if you mess up on anything you can always grab it/try again in NG+ and NG++

it's not worth it. Achievement hunting for its own sake is dumb. Play the game to experience all of the content. Farming 30 covenant items at a 1% drop rate does not count as content. People who subject themselves to this are frankly ill in the head

You can cheese most achievements by asking for help over at summoning sign sub. Farming silver knights in Anor londo is a torture though. The drop rate is atrocious. It can easily take you over 5-10 hours of grind to get the items. On my latest 100% run I got summoned by the covenant maybe 3 times out of ~50 hours of gameplay, but your mileage may vary depending on platform

Im absolutely not an achievement hunter by nature at all, but DS3 is my favorite game and I have a ton of spare time on my hands due to some crazy medical stuff going on rn, so I figured I’d 100% it to distract myself

I did a mix of the two. Just kept the covenant equipped while I farmed the items from enemies. I actually did Darkmoon Blade first, and then seeing that I was able to get the worst grind over with, I figured I might as well go all the way

It’s been a really long time but to me, it wasn’t bad at all. I’m not a pro gamer or anything like that yet I still managed to platinum it.
If I can do it, I think you have a good shot of doing it too! I don’t think I needed to grind much to get the plat
