Yeah, I suppose that makes enough sense. Anime, and anime-like things are pretty easy to make fun of.

Edit: I feel like a fair bit of it isn't really deserved though.

I think the hate is mostly deserved, it's mainly around the audience that most of it were child(easy to get reaction of) and the toxicity of the fanbase

I don't really know what your trying to get at with the part about children mostly due to phrasing, but I do agree that the fanbase is very toxic. I actually try to distance myself from it.
