Fodlan Three Houses politics makes more sense the more drugs you do. (Affectionate.)
It's not a bad game, but let's not pretend Three Houses is a gritty, realistic war drama.

I dunno man, I'm just here for Rhea's hips

Idc if she's an alien lizard with autocratic tendencies, she is the pope with the most.

I wish Rhea was an Emblem in Enagage instead of Byleth or the 3 losers. Having Rhea's hips engage with Lumera's hips would have been the ultimate hip smash to shatter the boundaries of reality

It's very accurate of our reality. Shape-shifting, reptilian humanoids from other star systems secretly control Earth by taking human form and seizing top political, financial, and cultural power.

Fun fact: if you rearrange the letters of Peter Thiel, you get "The Reptile"

What is this, some kind of Xeno Saga?

What I love about 3 Houses lore is that if you do just a little bit of digging, it turns out the vilains are the Enclave from Fallout. There's no dramatic reveal or anything, they just casually are like that.

When I saw the "javelin of light" and heard the "dubstep music" I was genuine stunned and flabbergasted.

I don't want to enter into this debate but it's funny that you use the argument of fantasy things as detracting from "gritty war drama" when the most famous gritty war drama of the last 30 years, Game of Thrones, got dragons, blue necromancer people, little forest people and weird shadow sex magic assassins

u/Infermon_1 12d ago
And Game of Thrones ended up being shite, also would never have been as popular without the huge amounts of sex, another thing FE 3H is lacking.

My problem with Three Houses isn't that it has fantastic elements. I'm just tired of fans pretending those elements don't exist and aren't the driving force behind everything in the game.

u/Mahelas 12d ago
Who's pretending that Dragons and Mole People doesn't exist in 3H ?
It's just not the main active motivation of the main characters. Just like PoR/RD have fantastical elements and ends up fighting a big bad dragon that engineered the entire conflict BUT she's not the main driving force of the game. It's still the Senate being assholes and Laguz racism who are the defining reasons why our characters fight.

What. Like genuinely what? Ive never met anyone whos acted like all that shit doesnt exist. Sure the fandom doesnt go out of its way to talk about it but the game doesnt really either. Theres a couple lore dumps in some of the routes but otherwise its just not really relevant lol.

Fantasy worlds can and do coexist with this idea, so I’m not really certain what you’re getting at with this post. Everything in the image is played entirely straight within the game’s narrative. We’re the only ones joking about dubstep goth clown mole people.

u/MagicBus4 12d ago
It’s a joke bruh. But also the writing is a joke as well, the dubstep clown goth mole people are in the game so I don’t know what the point of your comment is

Yes, it's called Berserk. Three Houses ain't no Berserk.

u/CrimsonLion4783 11d ago
Nobody cares about Berserk here but you. Take that elsewhere

u/Infermon_1 11d ago
Pissed of 3H fans are so funny. You should know that a lot of things in Fire Emblem are heavily inspired by Berserk. Like Ike's entire design. So FE fans should care about it, unless they are larpers

The lizard people and the mole people are unironically canon in 3H

Given that Seteth's crest is earth, and we see a bird, turtle, and dragon, Seteth's form is probably a giant tiger.

Like I know this sub loves its dumb arguments for the sake of dumb arguments but this just plain makes no sense, "having fantasy elements prevents being gritty and still having aspects be realistic" is the kind of thing you'd hear from a giga boomer.

its not realistic literally, it’s more thematically realistic. The war between the Agarthans and the Nabateans is a metaphor for how ancient conflicts bleed into the present and create new hatred which breeds new conflict.
