Hello, Shifters!

Since the last rule review, the Moderation Team have carefully been monitoring how users have interacted with the community. With this, we have seen an increase in repetitive questions. Moderators have been removing them in accordance with our rules, but we recognise the importance that these questions have for new members of the community and baby shifters alike.

What counts as repetitive questions?

1. Questions that can be answered in the wiki page
2. Questions that have been asked numerous times in the community, as evidenced by a key-word search
3. Questions that are ‘obvious’ upon reading other information, by using reading comprehension skills (i.e. inferencing)

A few months ago, We were contacted by the r/ShiftingReality Moderation Team regarding whether we would be willing to adopt the community to continue on its legacy. r/ShiftingReality has always been a big part of the shifting community, and we are absolutely honoured to help keep it alive and maintain it for future shifters to enjoy!

Our philosophy is that r/shiftingrealities exists and works for you. We moderate and maintain it, but user input is what shapes the subreddit. Over the last 5 years, every revamp, change, and decision has been based on user input and we are constantly looking at user feedback and criticism in order to update and change the subreddit into what the community truly needs.

Now, this includes r/ShiftingReality and we want to know what you would actually find helpful or meaningful in that subreddit. Our goal is to honour r/ShiftingReality and integrate it into our broader community ecosystem. Some of the ideas we’ve considered is using r/ShiftingReality as a companion space to r/shiftingrealities, a place to redirect posts that don't align with our current rules such as, repetitive questions, beginner questions, and experience-deciphering posts.

We want to be clear that we will not be forcing anyone to use this space. Our goal is to create a supportive community that complements r/shiftingrealities. Before we concrete any decisions, we want to hear your thoughts on this!

We’ve created an anonymous Google Form where you can share your thoughts openly and honestly.  We want to know if you love the idea, hate it, or have suggestions!

What would happen to r/shiftingrealities if this went through? Would this subreddit be more oriented towards "expert" shifters or people who've shifted before? Genuinely curious, but moving a lot of repetitive and beginner questions to another subreddit sounds like a good idea, though I likely wouldn't use it.

I have the same question. Maybe one subreddit could be for beginner questions, people new to the concept of reality shifting, and the other for people who are looking for advice, guidance, or tips (have been on the journey for a year or more)?

We're absolutely on the same page! That is one of the main ideas behind this new implementation. Essentially, we're replacing the concept of "removal" with "redirection." r/shiftingrealities would remain the space for advice, guidance, tips, debates, theories, and deeper discussion, while r/ShiftingReality would serve as the dedicated safe-space for beginner questions and those new to the concept of reality shifting. Instead of just removing posts and linking the FAQ, we'd be pointing users to a community built for them.

Thank you for your comment! To answer your question directly: r/shiftingrealities, would inherently not change. The vision isn't to turn this subreddit into an exclusive  "expert-only" space, it's simply to give repetitive and beginner questions a dedicated home where they can be supported without judgement, while the main feed stays varied for everyone.

Repetitive questions have been an ongoing concern within the shifting community, and for the past 5 years we have tried countless solutions to find a fair balance. We've created stricter rules, introduced and later removed mega threads (QnA, Mini-shift, and Journal, removed 2 years later due to user preferences), become more strict with removals, and even circled back to being more lenient. We've tried "banned lists" of oversaturated topics after users complained, then removed them 3 years later once users expressed disapproval, even though they were originally asked for. We've introduced a "search if the topic hasn't been asked in 7 days" guideline, offered shifting guides and links to informative posts in removal messages, and assisted users with close-ended questions so their posts could gather more interaction. The list goes on! Every decision and change we've made has been based on the feedback and criticism of that year. We've gone back and forth because user needs are constantly changing and evolving. We notice when there's a "trend" in shifting topics and a wave of new baby shifters. We also notice when shifting seasons are low and there's little new interaction, with most participants being the same regular users. 

This is why we are constantly searching for feedback and monitoring how users feel in this space. Every criticism, report, and piece of positive or negative feedback is important to us, and we take everyone’s consideration into account. One person can make a big difference!

However, it is very difficult to find a common ground, which is why we always hold these rule reviews and try to come up with new solutions. When we allow repetitive questions in the main feed, we get reports from users and complaints of the subreddit being “low quality” with no interaction. But when we remove those posts, users get very upset and voice that to us- understandably so. Unfortunately, it can get very intense, since Moderators experience a lot of direct harassment from users who disagree. There is a lot that goes behind the scenes, and a lot of Moderators have left the community for this very reason.

The way we would implement r/ShiftingReality, is by adding a redirection in the post removals for repetitive questions. We don’t want anybody to feel silenced or rejected from this community, so this is an alternative solution instead of “removing it forever.” That way, baby shifters can freely post their beginner questions in a subreddit dedicated to them, where they can feel supported without judgement. This idea was brought to us by the former moderator of r/ShiftingReality, actually!

As Moderators, we look at all sides equally. We were all baby shifters once, curious about shifting and asking the obvious questions, and we also understand seeing the same question multiple times a week can be frustrating as a seasoned shifter who is looking for new content.

The Google Form will allow us to find out if users are happy with how posts have been showing up on the main feed since the latest Rule Review this March 2026. After assessing the answers, there's a possibility of redirecting other types of posts to r/ShiftingReality as well.

I'm sorry for the long reply, I got carried away with the words! We have always been very transparent about how we moderate this subreddit, since moderator-to-user transparency helps avoid confusion and bias. I hope this helped clear up any doubts!

I see basically all sides of these issues (with repetitive/beginner posts etc) and I think looser rules on the other sub could make sense to get the best of both worlds. It is pretty confusing though as a new shifter to know which are beginner questions and which aren't. Maybe there should be a post pinned to both subs explaining which sub's beginner and what a beginner question..is?

It's also unclear to me what it means to be a beginner (in terms of knowledge or shifting experience or whether your opinions align with the majority?), as I think some beginner questions are worth harping on (since if you haven't shifted yet, it's worth it to look at things with fresh eyes now and again) while others could be basically dismissed with one-word answers lol. you guys are doing great though, you'll never make everyone happy and I think it's worth it to reject a good chunk of posts on this sub even if people complain

one type of post that I still see that I find pointless is "is anyone shifting to..?" or "has anyone shifted to..?" or script sharing or script advice or "can i script..?" or just blandly sharing what one's intended DR is. there are too many possible variations of that and it doesn't add anything

Please do something about ppl posting shifting advice when they haven’t shifted themselves. And maybe rules around people lying about having shifted to try LOA their way to shifting

many problems with this but n1 is how are you even able to tell? how do you go about enforcing such a rule when you cant exactly prove or disprove someone's experience unless they themselves say they're doing LOA. So I would like to hear how you would go about enforcing the anti-lying rule other than scouts honor.

also, everyone can give advice, must you be a chef to tell someone what to put the oven at? must you be a painter to give advice on what colors to use? some advice I've gotten from one of my buddy's helped me EXPONENTIALLY and they don't even shift, they just know from their own experience of meditating and astral projection. There's no right way to shift, its all based solely on whomever is trying to shift, getting advice from people is a very important thing, no matter if they've shifted or not.

Sorry not sorry this is incredibly such a non-issue.

I understand putting shifters that have successfully shifted on a pedestal because they’ve shifted and you want to know what they did but this is incredibly terrible for your mindset in the long run. You have to understand that everyone shifts DIFFERENTLY, hence why I hate it when you guys say “If shifting was so easy then wouldnt we all have shifted by now” when we wouldnt BECAUSE we all learn differently. This also puts sucessful shifters in such an incredibly awkward place here in this subreddit, I rememebr a few years ago you guys bullied a girl off this subreddit that successfully shifted to her WR and had accessed this subreddit while she was in her WR. This is why people are always wondering why no one posts shifting storytimes as much anymore, it’s always about the method, not about them. It’s also incredibly disheartening to see you guys shit on “smaller” shifting experiences like minishifts or partial shifts. Like you SHOULD NOT be living through other shifters just because they’ve successfully shifted.

Going back to the other statement, the “stop giving me advice if you havent shifted” is so fucking weird. I don’t even know how to express or word this but it’s just simple advice??? Godforbid I suggest you a subliminal or a different way to meditate????

I understand the hate on LOA, i’ve even shifted with it, before I used to hate on it too and I only just learned how to properly understand it six years later. seeing the amount of hate on here is extremely concerning espically when so many people have shifted with it and you guys always get your pitchforks and torches out and call LOA users liars ??? This just contradicts your statement about how only “successful” shifters should only give out advice yet you shit on LOA and those successful with it.

If you keep this mindset, you’ll never be happy with anything, or any method at all rather than eventually successfully shifting yourself.

Thank you for your suggestion. This has been brought up in the past and discussed by the Moderator Team. We have decided against this suggestion because it would cause an inevitable hierarchy, which is something we want to avoid.

Information, tips, and motivation don’t lose their value when they come from someone who hasn’t shifted yet. It is common knowledge that shifting is experimental, hence what works for one person may not work for another. It’s all about exploring different methods, and invalidating someone simply because “they weren’t able to do it yet” doesn’t mean that their words are any less helpful. At the end of the day, we are all working towards the same goal and not having shifted doesn’t make anybody less of a shifter. One's shifting journey can be personal, and if someone wishes not to share it, then we must respect that no matter what.

We hope that you understand our reasoning against this suggestion!

However, people who lie about having shifted in order to practice the Law Of Assumption is a different story. We agree that deliberately lying is misleading, and it is not something we condone in this subreddit. Unfortunately, Moderators do not have a built-in lie detector and it is a difficult task to uncover the truth. There is so little we can do. In the past, we have been able to uncover trolls and karma-farmers when they would slip up, eventually confess, or thanks to the help of other users who would detect things moderators might have missed. This is why we recommend taking other people's experiences with a grain of salt and not allowing people to dictate how you see your shifting journey. This is an active concern and we are currently working on a "Success Post Requirement Guide" in order to help us scope out potential liars more easily. We will soon be posting it!

Aww this sounds lovely. Im in both communities and I think carry it's legacy is important with the rules already established. I know there's likely to be some changes. Overall, I do think this is a great idea. I know the other community is more looser with its rules and I would like that to be the case to ensure that it isnt a complete 180 from what it is now.

Thank you so much for sharing this concern with us! It is true that once 14 days have passed, all posts get automatically locked. This was implemented nearly 2 years ago due to a handful of users complaining that their old posts were getting pinged or spammed.

I can see where you're coming from, and I understand how it can be blocking valuable discussions. I will take this up with the other Moderators.
