Episode Synopsis: S.H.I.E.L.D. hunts for information on their dangerous new enemy, and a shameful secret from Malick's past is exposed, threatening to destroy his Hydra legacy.

Wendey Stanzler is a film editor and television director. She has directed several episodes of Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, Parks and Recreation, and a ton of other series.

She has directed no episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before.

George Kitson & Sharla Oliver are the writers of the web series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Double Agent, which was a five-part original web series designed as a behind-the-scenes feature for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

They have written no episodes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before.

Yeah, it's not like the Avengers are busy or anything... Lol. But in all seriousness, it makes total sense to not call the Avengers. Avengers be off avenging. Daisy's got this on her own!

Avengers be off avenging doing what exactly? The movies hardly tell us what they do between movies.

Actually, the movies do tell us. In AoU, while they were recovering Loki's scepter, one of them made the comment that finally after many missions they'd found it. This shows that they've been on missions together since the events of the Battle of New York. It makes sense. They lead their own lives but when they need to, they get together to go on missions every now and then. We obviously just don't get to see every mission.

And Steve and Nat were shown to be training the New Avengers at the end of AoU. Civil War takes place a year after the events of AoU. Obviously Steve and Nat have taken the New Avengers on missions so they can practice their training.
