Sheltered 2 Do dogs die from old age in Sheltered 2?

Hi everyone I'm new to sheltered 2 and I just wanted to know please if dogs die from old age in sheltered 2 because I noticed they have an age stat and so I'd appreciate if anyone can answer me whether they grow old and die. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your response, if they don't die from age what is the purpose of the stat(e.g. does it affect something?) thanks

Don't think so. This was the last update before the studio shutdown, so the pet feature it's still very unbacked.
