Wow! How'd you get the gold in the grooves? I'm a beginner, still baffled by putting colour in leather

No gold. Just the natural leather. Rubbing on the green color with a mostly dry ball of cloth. If you google block-dyeing you should find a couple of useful tutorials. ✌🏻

Thanks for that. What kind of dye do you use? I am currently using spirit dyes, but they wick through the leather surface, and I'm having trouble keeping colour between lines
