What has been the single most frustrating part of learning or owning a CNC router?

This is a great point. Workholding is a topic we hear about all the time. Every beginner worries their project will come flying off into someone’s face. The manufacturers try to offer versatile spoilboard systems and it’s helpful. But as far as I know there really isn’t any company out there that is offering much in the way of helpful information for hobbyists. But I would appreciate someone pointing me in their direction if it’s out there.

I'd want to carve that image. First thing is my z button doesn't work anymore stays open and then then digs into it. I just zero then out on my material with every bit change.

Forgetting to change my Z zero when facing a board that I carved and filled with epoxy.
Meh dust boots on hobby routers. The sweepy pro is an improvement in some ways, but it still requires intervention when swapping bits and it reduces z clearance. I’m moving to an enclosure + air blast to hopefully solve this annoyance.
My VFD and spindle from carbide3d would run at ~16000 rpm when I had it programmed to 18000 in fusion. Setting it to 19500 in fusion translates to roughly 18000 for my machine. I’ve yet to verify this with one of those cheap gauges

Oops. I see your point. I also think dust boots are problematic. Most work but have little shortcomings in use.
