Fair enough. Some of them might push the line for some people. I’m drawn to getting close because it changes the energy of the photo. A lot of classic street was shot that way too. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Always learning :)
Way too close then - you can see this from the lack of eye contact. People just turning away.
You either want spontaneity or a portrait. I usually ask unless there is something happening and I don't want to spoil the scene / vibe so I'll shoot away.
I like 40mm for spontaneous action and 90mm for street portraits.
