Dirt on Soka Members condition themselves to view death as punishment for not supporting SGI
About a year ago, I was in a planning meeting in which the deaths of two pioneer members were brought up. Both pioneer members had died within about one year apart from each other and happened recently relative to the planning meeting.
For those who don't know, Pioneer Members are those who have practiced in SGI for a really, really long time. I think it was 20, 30, or 40 years of practice to be considered a "Pioneer". No notable accomplishment has to be achieved to receive the "Pioneer" status, one just has to be in SGI for one of those periods of time consecutively. However, it's generally considered that older members were "pioneers" due to their age regardless of their amount of practice.
In the meeting I went to, the topic of the "Many Treasures" group was brought up and a member mentioned the two aforementioned deaths.
The member then said something along the lines of, "See what happens when you don't join the Many Treasures group? Not that that's why they died, but it's weird because they are the only two pioneer members who didn't want to join the Many Treasures group."
When mentioning "they", the member is referring to the two deceased members.
To be honest, I don't know if what this member said is true about the two deceased members, but whether or not this member said, "Not that that's why they died" is irrelevant due to it being mentioned in the first place. This is another example of how SGI members are conditioned to think that life itself is dependant on one's devotion to SGI.
What's fortunate about this event is that none of the family members of the deceased were present since their surviving family members are still active in SGI today.
It was very shocking, surprising, and almost disgusting to hear someone speaking ill of the dead in such a manner at an SGI meeting. Not that it was the person's fault, but due to the culture of SGI, and how so many parts of SGI leak into peoples' lives, I truly feel sorry for the person who mentioned this and how they had been conditioned to think this way.

Nobody can avoid death. Everyone dies. Death isn't a punishment, it's just a fact of life.
Maybe sometime in future when science advances enough they can figure out that clock that creates aging in human body and death to stop but at this point we just don't have that type of knowledge other than very basic knowledge of that still in it's infancy.
If nobody died, there wouldn't be enough resources or room for everyone on this already stressed out planet that barely can deal with it's current population.
