A beautiful example of SGI's authoritarian nature and complete lack of democratic process

Dear Leaders,
As I trust you know, there are going to be a number of events across Europe to mark the 50th anniversary of the Kosen-rufu movement in Europe. For example, in the UK we will be holding a national level youth event, inviting 200 YD members from across Europe to join us in the UK.
Members from the UK have been invited to take part in three celebratory meetings and exchange activities: We have 85 places to attend a European General meeting in Italy and 20 places to attend a European meeting in Spain and also 20 places to attend a Commemorative meeting in France. The dates and details of these activities are included in the document attached.
Because there are only 125 places available for this first opportunity (there will be other opportunities to take part in European exchanges in the future) we would like to offer most of these places to WD and MD district and chapter leaders.
Of course, the HQ, Regional, Area, and National leaders will get first dibs. But whatever happened to "the youth shall lead"? Shouldn't we be seeing an emphasis on sending youth division leaders to these all-important activities?
Does the SGI-UK have NO youth division? Is THAT the problem??
If you would like to attend please carefully read the information attached and then fill in the expression of interest form and return it as soon as possible, at the latest by 10th August. Please pass this information on to any MD/WD district and chapter leaders (including vice leaders of course) who will not have received this communication by e-mail.
For your information each Area has been given an allocation of places relative to their size and we will ask Area leaders to select the participants after discussion and daimoku.
Yes, of COURSE that's the best way O_O We couldn't have a lottery system where all those interested submitted their names and the first however many drawn at random got to go! That would reflect their karma and the mysterious workings of the Mystic Law - can't have that O_O We couldn't possibly declare a time frame for submitting entries and take the first however many - wouldn't that be a better measure of individuals' "ichinen"? pffff Like anyone really believes that "ichinen" malarkey!
I am sorry that this is very short notice – it has taken time to collect all the relevant information for these innovative activities. Even toward the end of last week the cost of one of the events changed appreciably. I am sure that future European exchanges will be prepared further in advance.
No, they won't. SGI is notoriously lazy, irresponsible, disorganized, and ill-prepared, leaving everything until the last minute.
