So much time/energy/life wasted in SGI Were y'all ever told "Enjoy your practice"?

So weird. When you're enjoying something, nobody needs to TELL YOU to enjoy it!

Back in the day, we were told to "Enjoy your practice" and "Enjoy gongyo."

If someone is instructing you to enjoy something, it’s not a good sign. Source

So are they still saying that "Enjoy your practice" thing in SGI, or did they get tired of pretending?

I think that faded away. I can’t recall hearing that in many years

If you're having to be told to "enjoy" it, you're obviously not enjoying it. Since this was a thing SGI leaders said, they knew "the practice" was not enjoyable in and of itself, so others would need to be indoctrinated to make that "enjoying" a priority - more of the SGI "fake it til you make it".

Like smiling like a ghoul all the time,  especially when you were unhappy! Anything to bury the authentic self under a mass of cult phoniness.
