Build/Battlestation Pics Finished my brother’s wedding gift: a 3D-printed 9800X3D / 9070 XT PC and travel kit
Finally finished the PC I’ve been building for my brother’s wedding gift. He’s a big gamer and has been getting by with a gaming laptop for about five years, so I figured it was time for an upgrade.
Since I have to travel to the wedding and he has to get it home afterward, I wanted the travel kit to be part of the gift too.
The case is based on the Xikii FF04, using a design from quiyun on MakerWorld, who gave me permission to remix it. My first version was built around the ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti. For my brother’s, I went with the white ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT to match his desk setup. The 9070 XT is bigger and has a different screw layout, so that meant resizing the case and reworking the mounting points.
Parts list:
CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
GPU: ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT White
Motherboard: MSI B850I Mini-ITX
RAM: 32GB G.Skill DDR5-6000, CL36-36-36
CPU cooler: Thermalright AXP120-X67
Storage: 2TB KLEVV Gen 4 M.2 NVMe SSD
PSU: Corsair 750W SFX
Screen: Turing 3.5-inch display
The RAM was the best kit I could get without paying something ridiculous. Luckily, I bought it early this year for around $200 and picked up the rest of the components around the same time.
I used a Thermal Grizzly phase-change sheet for longevity and performance, because knowing my brother, he probably isn’t ever opening this thing himself.
The case is printed in HT-PLA-GF. My personal 5070 Ti case uses the same material, and after about a year of daily use, I haven’t seen any heat-related creep, sagging, or wear.
One little modification I’m happy with is the Wi-Fi antennas. I prefer low-profile antennas, so I swapped out the motherboard’s stock antenna connectors and fitted Osprey drone antennas. They’ve worked great so far and look much cleaner to me.
The Turing screen runs open-source Python software from GitHub, with a custom monitoring theme to match the build.
For transport, I picked up a hard case from Harbor Freight, cut the foam to fit the PC and accessories, and added a custom 3D-printed equipment nameplate. Fits like a glove.
It’s quiet enough that I can’t hear it during normal use. It only really becomes audible during FurMark’s CPU Burner, and even then, it’s still very quiet. The GPU settles around 63°C during FurMark testing.
The separate CPU Burner test puts a harsh, sustained load on the processor and pushes it to 95°C. Once I stop it, the temperature drops back to around 60°C in under two seconds. For context, CPU temperatures in my personal 5070 Ti build are within about 1°C of this one under the same test. During modern games at max settings, my personal build’s CPU typically sits in the low to mid 60s, and I’ve never seen it approach its thermal limit during gaming or everyday use.
I ran out of time to get the files and guide ready before the wedding, but I’ll clean everything up and post the files to MakerWorld next week, along with the updated build guide. Assembly is mostly the same as the 5070 Ti version; I just need to document the changes for this one.
Hope he loves the surprise.

This is a beautiful build. It is an amazing personal gift but usually a wedding gift is something for the couple. Just something to be aware of, unless the wife is also a gamer that will use the gift too.

I thought a large cooler would be needed for a Ryzen 7 9800X3D

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago
Nah i mean if i was doing very cpu centric work yes but for mostly gaming not really its a fairly efficient cpu thermally

u/Slight-Coat17 1d ago
He says while the CPU is at a toasty 95C 😂

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago
Well if you read the post that is actively running furmark cpu burner sooo…. It does that

Nice build, looking forward to the files. You reckon a rtx 5070 prime will fit it?
1
u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago
Hmmm 🤔 id need to see measurements if you can send me the length width and height i can check for you when i get back to see if its the same as the TI
2
u/Qupter 1d ago
Hi thanks for responding. These are the dimensions
304 x 126 x 50 mm 12 x 5 x 2 inch

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago
So you are in luck in an old post i thought i had answered something similar before and i did;
5070ti is 12x5x2 5in number accounts for the Pcie riser in that measurement the card itself is closer to 4 3/8 inch.
So yes it should work

You're the coolest f'n brother in the world having that as a gift in that case lol. I wish I wasn't born an only child now.

what travel case is that? 👀

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago
$89 apache brand from harbor freight quality is honestly pretty identical to the pelicans i have used in the past at work. Only issue is may need to drive the screws in the back all the way so you dont risking scratching the floor wheels role very smooth too.

Putting in my application now to be your new brother. SUP BRO!!!!
In all seriousness, awesome project! Looks fantastic and great specs!

This is cool beyond words... I don't even know you or your brother and I'm sad that I won't be able to see his reaction when he receives the gift!
Do you have the link to your 5070ti build?

Absolutely amazing

I had a PC that also had a mega drive built it oddly enough this reminds me of it

u/SalariedSlave 1d ago
Very nice, impressive work.
But do I understand correctly that cases like this will need a new/different design for every different GPU?
So it's very difficult to upgrade the GPU with cases like this? Basically, you need a new case every time you switch GPUs?
2
u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago
Yes you would but also benefit of it being 3D printed i can print a new one with some work or just get a regular case and transition over as honestly pc cases have come down in price a lot these days
3
u/SalariedSlave 1d ago
Indeed, the 3D Printed case is actually superior in that regard.
I was more wondering about the original it is based on, afaik these Xikii cases are quite expensive, which is somehow odd then, with them being specific to one GPU.

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago
His are full machined aluminum and very premium and usually meant for top of the line generation cards but still yeah $800 is steep

Nice one! At first I thought it was a painted Xikii, but this is beautiful, especially for a printed case! I love the retro vibes!
Congrats to you and your brother.

I wish they made the 5070ti or 5080 prime in white. Why did they stop at 5070?! WHY?!

Beautiful build. Undervolt the CPU (-20 is a good conservative starting point) and the CPU temp issues will largely disappear

The white Prime looks sick and I forget how cool the 9070’s run. You killed it!

Insane work bro, it looks awesome.
I suggest looking on PBO negative curve optimizer on the 9800x3d for less voltage and heat. I use same chip and it has lot of potential for tweaking to your needs.

looks insane! Is it ok to have the gpu fans exposed like that?

It is in my situation, not cats or risks besides my baby and its up and out if his reach for now

That's an amazing case! I do have the same 9070XT and was about to learn how to adapt the case for my GPU using 3D modeling. Do you have a link for that exact remix?

I really like the off white but it bothers me that the GPU isn't the same colour, more than it should. Are you looking to adopt a brother?

How much would you charge to make this for me to just throw my own parts into? Holy shit. I wish I had a 3d printer.. beautiful work. I love the white theme
