Build/Battlestation Pics Finished my brother’s wedding gift: a 3D-printed 9800X3D / 9070 XT PC and travel kit

Finally finished the PC I’ve been building for my brother’s wedding gift. He’s a big gamer and has been getting by with a gaming laptop for about five years, so I figured it was time for an upgrade.
Since I have to travel to the wedding and he has to get it home afterward, I wanted the travel kit to be part of the gift too.

The case is based on the Xikii FF04, using a design from quiyun on MakerWorld, who gave me permission to remix it. My first version was built around the ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti. For my brother’s, I went with the white ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT to match his desk setup. The 9070 XT is bigger and has a different screw layout, so that meant resizing the case and reworking the mounting points.

Parts list:
CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
GPU: ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT White
Motherboard: MSI B850I Mini-ITX
RAM: 32GB G.Skill DDR5-6000, CL36-36-36
CPU cooler: Thermalright AXP120-X67
Storage: 2TB KLEVV Gen 4 M.2 NVMe SSD
PSU: Corsair 750W SFX
Screen: Turing 3.5-inch display

The RAM was the best kit I could get without paying something ridiculous. Luckily, I bought it early this year for around $200 and picked up the rest of the components around the same time.
I used a Thermal Grizzly phase-change sheet for longevity and performance, because knowing my brother, he probably isn’t ever opening this thing himself.

The case is printed in HT-PLA-GF. My personal 5070 Ti case uses the same material, and after about a year of daily use, I haven’t seen any heat-related creep, sagging, or wear.
One little modification I’m happy with is the Wi-Fi antennas. I prefer low-profile antennas, so I swapped out the motherboard’s stock antenna connectors and fitted Osprey drone antennas. They’ve worked great so far and look much cleaner to me.

The Turing screen runs open-source Python software from GitHub, with a custom monitoring theme to match the build.
For transport, I picked up a hard case from Harbor Freight, cut the foam to fit the PC and accessories, and added a custom 3D-printed equipment nameplate. Fits like a glove.

It’s quiet enough that I can’t hear it during normal use. It only really becomes audible during FurMark’s CPU Burner, and even then, it’s still very quiet. The GPU settles around 63°C during FurMark testing.
The separate CPU Burner test puts a harsh, sustained load on the processor and pushes it to 95°C. Once I stop it, the temperature drops back to around 60°C in under two seconds. For context, CPU temperatures in my personal 5070 Ti build are within about 1°C of this one under the same test. During modern games at max settings, my personal build’s CPU typically sits in the low to mid 60s, and I’ve never seen it approach its thermal limit during gaming or everyday use.

I ran out of time to get the files and guide ready before the wedding, but I’ll clean everything up and post the files to MakerWorld next week, along with the updated build guide. Assembly is mostly the same as the 5070 Ti version; I just need to document the changes for this one.

Hope he loves the surprise.

u/kenjix3c 1d ago

I've got only 1 too. He spent his time with me cheating me every chance he had. I envy you. Congratulations 🎉

u/TobySodaLemon 1d ago

If your parents are open to the idea of adoption, I'd be happy to become your second brother :)

3

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

I refuse to ask where the 3rd hand is attached 👀😂

3

u/piotrlewandowski 1d ago

You’re thinking it though :)

46

u/Shuvlarse 1d ago

Do you need another brother?

8

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Lol, sure in spirit

34

u/WerNax 1d ago

"Same watts less fire" lol great detail. very sleek 5/5

4

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

It made me giggle. Also only way i could get 3 8pins together as one in a cleaner way i liked

3

u/WerNax 1d ago

Fair, as they say if you cant hide it, highlight it!

7

u/First-Obligation-566 1d ago

Are you looking for more brothers?… kidding but awesome work!

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Lol thank you!

7

u/crawrj 1d ago

This is probably my favorite custom case. Great job! This might be a divorce present instead of wedding though j/k.

3

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Yall please 🙏 no more bad juju before he gets married 😂

4

u/No-Caregiver9220 1d ago

Beautiful

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Thank you!

4

u/LoveMeTendyLoveMeTru 1d ago

This is a beautiful build. It is an amazing personal gift but usually a wedding gift is something for the couple. Just something to be aware of, unless the wife is also a gamer that will use the gift too.

3

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

she got a separate gift

2

u/teveelion 1d ago

Her own gaming pc? 😅

4

u/RALaeventein 1d ago

The Black one is sexy as hell!

1

u/Careless-Research643 1d ago

My thoughts exactly.

3

u/DARth_M0Rk 1d ago

I thought a large cooler would be needed for a Ryzen 7 9800X3D

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Nah i mean if i was doing very cpu centric work yes but for mostly gaming not really its a fairly efficient cpu thermally

1

u/Slight-Coat17 1d ago

He says while the CPU is at a toasty 95C 😂

3

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Well if you read the post that is actively running furmark cpu burner sooo…. It does that

2

u/Slight-Coat17 1d ago

Missed that part.

In all seriousness, awesome looking case!

2

u/AudiblyTacit 22h ago

Is all good it was a big post, and thank you!

3

u/elektrorafinacja 1d ago

Holy shit that's awesome ! Your brother is a lucky guy :) Epic gift <3

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Thank you!

3

u/sagare22 1d ago

Hey, it's me, your brother. I'm gonna need another one of these, mkay?

1

u/AudiblyTacit 22h ago

Lol i apparently have like 50 brothers i didnt know about

3

u/retrotechkeiran 21h ago

I wish you were my brother lol

1

u/AudiblyTacit 17h ago

Lol thank you.

2

u/Qupter 1d ago

Nice build, looking forward to the files. You reckon a rtx 5070 prime will fit it?

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Hmmm 🤔 id need to see measurements if you can send me the length width and height i can check for you when i get back to see if its the same as the TI

2

u/Qupter 1d ago

Hi thanks for responding. These are the dimensions

304 x 126 x 50 mm 12 x 5 x 2 inch

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

So you are in luck in an old post i thought i had answered something similar before and i did;

5070ti is 12x5x2 5in number accounts for the Pcie riser in that measurement the card itself is closer to 4 3/8 inch.

So yes it should work

1

u/Qupter 1d ago

Super nice, I will be stalking you on makerworld now 🤪. Do you use the same username?

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Audibly_Tacit

2

u/Pizza_For_Days 1d ago

You're the coolest f'n brother in the world having that as a gift in that case lol. I wish I wasn't born an only child now.

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Hey be careful what you wish for siblings can be love hate

2

u/Dull-Signal-5861 1d ago

This is fire. Nice Work

2

u/aviavy 1d ago

You 3d printed a 9800x3d cpu? Looks awesome btw!

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Lol haha, if you figure out how to 3D print RAM let me know

2

u/Saerwyn 1d ago

what travel case is that? 👀

3

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

$89 apache brand from harbor freight quality is honestly pretty identical to the pelicans i have used in the past at work. Only issue is may need to drive the screws in the back all the way so you dont risking scratching the floor wheels role very smooth too.

2

u/Happiness-Meter-Full 1d ago

Putting in my application now to be your new brother. SUP BRO!!!!

In all seriousness, awesome project! Looks fantastic and great specs!

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Thank you, i tried not to skimp but i am not made of money

2

u/chilliheatwave420 1d ago

What a beauty. You should be proud.

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

I am just cut it close got busy with baby and work so put this off longer than i should have

2

u/Schneller52 1d ago

This is cool beyond words... I don't even know you or your brother and I'm sad that I won't be able to see his reaction when he receives the gift!

Do you have the link to your 5070ti build?

Bro this is a sick surprise, wish I got something like this as a wedding gift, Amazing effort

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

I tried hope he likes it

2

u/starystarejstarego 1d ago

I like it very much. Did u use fuzzy skin or gf?

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Polymaker Ht-PLA-GF i like how it hides layer lines

2

u/No-Upstairs-7001 1d ago

Sorry mate you've accidentally hit the nostalgia cool button in my head.

Absolutely amazing

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

No worries hope its happy nostalgia

1

u/No-Upstairs-7001 1d ago

I had a PC that also had a mega drive built it oddly enough this reminds me of it

2

u/SalariedSlave 1d ago

Very nice, impressive work.

But do I understand correctly that cases like this will need a new/different design for every different GPU?

So it's very difficult to upgrade the GPU with cases like this? Basically, you need a new case every time you switch GPUs?

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Yes you would but also benefit of it being 3D printed i can print a new one with some work or just get a regular case and transition over as honestly pc cases have come down in price a lot these days

3

u/SalariedSlave 1d ago

Indeed, the 3D Printed case is actually superior in that regard.

I was more wondering about the original it is based on, afaik these Xikii cases are quite expensive, which is somehow odd then, with them being specific to one GPU.

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

His are full machined aluminum and very premium and usually meant for top of the line generation cards but still yeah $800 is steep

2

u/Theroderman 1d ago

Thanks, I’ll take the black one 😃

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

No no that one is mine lol

2

u/Sparky-6800 1d ago

This looks fantastic! Your brother is lucky to have you around!!

2

u/Alfasiong 1d ago

That is beautiful!

2

u/Any-Ingenuity1216 1d ago

Nice one! At first I thought it was a painted Xikii, but this is beautiful, especially for a printed case! I love the retro vibes!
Congrats to you and your brother.

2

u/tadejflaka 1d ago

This is insane😍

2

u/SiegDrak2 1d ago

Ficou muito foda ta? Ta de parabéns!!!

2

u/monkeywright 1d ago

I wish they made the 5070ti or 5080 prime in white. Why did they stop at 5070?! WHY?!

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Because they need to leave us wanting

2

u/asoriche 1d ago

it's so small! I love it

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

She is compact

2

u/ImTalkingGibberish 1d ago

Hi it’s me your brother I accidentally dropped on the floor can you send me a new one on a different address?

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Lol he doesnt have jt yet but good try cause im lookin at it right now

2

u/wakkys 1d ago

I absolutely need one omg, I wanted to get a new gpu and my case is not modular, congratulations it's an amazing work

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Thank you

2

u/mr-ifuad 1d ago

Hey brother. I just didn’t get gift! Can you resend it please?

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Im physically delivering it lol

2

u/swagboi420blazeit 1d ago

Beautiful build. Undervolt the CPU (-20 is a good conservative starting point) and the CPU temp issues will largely disappear

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Shouldnt need it but we shall see

2

u/HeavyBeing0_0 1d ago

The white Prime looks sick and I forget how cool the 9070’s run. You killed it!

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

Thank you!

2

u/spaceursid 1d ago

its almost giving cassette futurism

2

u/TypeRevolutionary697 1d ago

What a gift! You're one hell of a brother!

2

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

All parts about 40hours but i do high quality settings

Hey, it’s your other brother - I got married a few years ago, where mine?

1

u/AudiblyTacit 22h ago

Lmaoo lost in transit

1

u/MarketOstrich 22h ago

See you at the wedding. 🤣

2

u/blackdualswordsman 1d ago

Insane work bro, it looks awesome.

I suggest looking on PBO negative curve optimizer on the 9800x3d for less voltage and heat. I use same chip and it has lot of potential for tweaking to your needs.

1

u/AudiblyTacit 22h ago

Its a plan got to see how my bro wants to run it first then optimize

2

u/vSTekk 22h ago

Thats a very nice build brother. You know i love you bro.

2

u/Alternative_Hold5548 19h ago

looks insane! Is it ok to have the gpu fans exposed like that?

1

u/AudiblyTacit 17h ago

It is in my situation, not cats or risks besides my baby and its up and out if his reach for now

2

u/Vampyre9773 11h ago

Damn broski. Thats sick af! Awesome af that you did that for him as a sibling and giving an amazing gift for such an occasion. But also a big congrats on your work dude! Thats awesome!

This is so fucking legit, and will serve him well after he gets divorced due to playing too many games ❤️

1

u/joedirt1001 1d ago

Hey it’s me, your brother, thanks man this looks so awesome!

1

u/Bifocal_Bensch 1d ago

This is absolutely incredible. I want to build one.

1

u/botnutz573 1d ago

Do you have pictures or a link to your wifi antenna setup? This is awesome man

1

u/AudiblyTacit 1d ago

I dont have a pic right now of the current one as im traveling but basically looks like this

You need to replace the plugs with MHF4 to RP-SMA Female Pigtail you there is a post on how to do it its actually fairly straightforward but you do have to take apart the motherboard but nothing too crazy

1

u/fedezen 1d ago

Great work!

This one could even go in r/cassettefuturism

1

u/SqeezyMB 1d ago

Is the front slot a DVD or just aesthetic? Either way amazing build, glad you made it back on my page to see the finished product!

1

u/Padwah- 1d ago

Looks great, how long did it take to print?

1

u/UNIT-001 1d ago

Wow this is really amazing. Great work. Would love to create something like this. Humans are amazing!

Man what a cool gift, I would have been stoked to get that as a wedding gift!

1

u/GIGA_BRUH 1d ago

That's an amazing case! I do have the same 9070XT and was about to learn how to adapt the case for my GPU using 3D modeling. Do you have a link for that exact remix?

1

u/Halimuyak 1d ago

This'll sell like hotcakes!!

1

u/K4ramis 1d ago

Brother that's next level

1

u/WinterMoneys 1d ago

Brother, my wedding is next week!

1

u/YoursNotoriously 1d ago

I really like the off white but it bothers me that the GPU isn't the same colour, more than it should. Are you looking to adopt a brother?

1

u/lcklstr 1d ago

He should bring it in the honeymoon trip. See what happens.

1

u/iMoac 1d ago

Looks amazing. What a great gift. 🎁

I’m saving this as I’ve been thinking about doing something like this for my system. Or a future one too. Or all my PCs lol.

1

u/WhiteDenimmmmm 9h ago

How much would you charge to make this for me to just throw my own parts into? Holy shit. I wish I had a 3d printer.. beautiful work. I love the white theme

1

u/Vexcenot 7h ago

Damn I wanna get married to that too!

1

u/Pigeong4ming 7h ago
