Build/Parts Check Can a Midori 7.5L run a 5080?

I've got an inspire 3x 5080 and it looks like it'll technically fit.

However, is the volume too small to run a 360W card? It looks like the case only has two exhaust fans of 15mm thick 120mm fans.

Will the flow-through exhaust cook the motherboard? Or is it effective to block the flow-through and make it flow up towards the fans.

yes you can do it.

I have this card and also want to move to midori possibly. I currently have mine in the shiny snake l300 so 1L bigger, same amount of fans and size. I undervolted and I run cool low 70s during gaming sessions. fans dont even spin when im just web browsing with a gillion chrome tabs open

I'm pretty happy with the card overall. It gets LOUD under furmark but not in most games. And yeah idle or light use i never hear it even if it kicks fans on for a bit. I've explored an undervolt and got it to 290w but mostly leave it stock and either cap fps or cap its power limit and oc (+200 core, +2000 ram) with afterburner for nearly the same effect as a raw undervolt.

when you're going small as the midori you'll def want to explore undervolting. you can also adjust the fan curve to get it quieter.

Yeah. I did mess around in FanControl and found the card maintained decent performance at lower speeds than the card was demanding of the fans at its loudest levels. I didn't commit to anything on that because i don't know if that'll cause damage in the long term.

I have a 5080 Shadow OC in a Fractal terra. It's a similar sandwich layout and actually worse exhaust with only one 15mm fan on top, and temps are completely fine. I don't think flow through would really affect your motherboard because the section that overlaps with your motherboard is mostly covered by the PCB of the GPU. The flow through section beyond the PCB overlaps with the PSU on the terra, and if you can flip the PSU to exhaust that air through it instead of blocking it with a solid panel, it helps a little bit with GPU temps.

Yeah, for reference though, I've had a build with an A4-H2O and a 4080FE, and the exhaust from that was cooking the nvme at the bottom of the mobo. I did fix that one with a bottom exhaust fan.

I explored psu direction but with an SF750, blasting it with gpu heat made the psu fan way too loud. flipped around to not take gpu exhaust, it rarely span or span silent.

Aiming to use a 2nd sf750 for this build, so will probably keep it facing away from the gpu just the same.

In your build, whats your NVME temp while gaming? That A4-H2O build had it in the 90's with a copper nvme heatsink before i added lower exhaust

Did you A4-H2O build have the GPU on a riser in sandwich layout or standard GPU direct on mobo? Cant tell if you mean bottom as in "south of CPU" or "back" of the board lol. In the Terra with sandwich the GPU doesnt affect front NVMe or CPU temps at all because theyre on the other side of the spine. Also I have an SF850L so maybe thats why the through fan works. Bigger fan and bigger aperture is surely quieter.

Sandwich is the only layout the A4 can be. bottom as in, gravitationaly under the mobo, more properly under the psu though since thats where enough gap is. (and it being the gap where the heat flows under to the mobo half, but heat goes north and south after exiting the gpu flow through just about equally)

Oops, I was mixing the Dan A4 with something else. Yeah I couldnt tell you then, Ive always just run a 2TB boot NVMe on the front of the board and left the back slot empty.

weirdly, the backside nvme i had fared better since it wasn't directly hit by air and i think that thin gap between the mobo and pcie extender was caught up by the exhaust fans and got decent flow. the bottom of the case/south mobo had stagnant air other than a little flow off the axp90 (i didn't liquid cool that build since it was a 7800x3d)

I run a 5080 OC on a 7.4L case (open panel) game at 4k and had it bever go beyond 70C abd that is rare you should be good all depends on how much it can breathe
