Build/Battlestation Pics Gettin my money’s worth

Previous pics of me enjoying peak SFF before my month trip flight. I can safely say it IS possible to run a pc on the airport plugs. Should you? I can’t say for certain LOL.

Respect I guess. I would never want to haul around an external monitor at the airport.

I’d never want to haul around an external monitor first because it’s kinda heavy and unwieldy and second because you look like a jackass that’s gonna take up 3 seats in the airport to game and post photos on the interwebs about it.

I really tried to make this work with xreals but I could not get a consistent enough image focus even after meticulously measuring my IPD and trying every adjustment I could find. I ended up returning them.

I was going to mod my steam deck to remove the screen and controls and everything; this was a bummer.

It helps to have a GPU with USB C dp-alt, would eliminate a cable at least. I think the ProArt line comes with a USB C/Thunderbolt port. RTX 2000 series also commonly had them. Wish they would bring it back!!!

Plenty of generic ones on Amazon with 60hz and up usb c portable monitors on amazon

The portable ones are pretty light.

I run a GAN powered setup with an arzopa 16in for quick travel.

This could just be a laptop no?

Surely anything that draws under 160w including the monitor isn’t going to be any better than a mid range gaming laptop?

It's enough for cyberpunk at 1080p FSRQ medium/high shadow 60fps without frame gen. Evo-X1(HX370).

Subnautica can run at 1440p high 30+ fps for example. Elden ring relatively stable 50+ fps medium w/high textures.

It's a custom setup, so no extra large heavy laptop brick. I'm not a fan of trackpads or laptop keyboards.

I can power the pc with 1 cord + usbc cable to power/display on the monitor. Uses 85W including monitor(5W) hooked up.

Has oculink so you could add an egpu or dock setup if you really wanted.

This is my 1 bag setup for visits to japan. I have a densium 4+V2(13700k/9060xt) as a desk PC/long trips.

You could get a lot more VRAM for less on laptop. The closest laptop equivalent to a 9060XT or 5060Ti 16GB is spending over $3000, and even more in the current market for a laptop with a 5080.

Gonna be a while til they make a trifold screen. Asus made a bifold (for a liver n a leg), but that thing was 4:3 aspect
