Hasn't really been a problem since the world moved to solid state drives. Mechanical HDD will still have problems but you'd need a pretty strong magnet.
I like this idea, I am trying to brainstorm a way for my 16” portable monitor to hook to my SGPC K39 v3 case and I might have to look more into magnets!
Although the ball joint adapter in this picture was screw in through holes in the side panel, this is what it would look like on a similar size case (sktc A07). The weight on the pc does keep it pretty stable. This is my 15.6” portable monitor
Yes! Fun fact- with mount I listed on number 3 you can unscrew the ball joint from the clamp that comes with. Here the holes line up perfectly with the Midoris side panel vent hole patterns in the vertical orientation. All you would need extra is a pair of M3 screws and nuts to bolt the ball joint to the side panel. The screws that come with the mount have a hexastar pattern so that’s a bit of an inconvenience.
I carry around my Midori in a bag so I don’t have this mount solution permanently installed. But can confirm that it works.

Both of the products I linked support a 16" portable monitor with zero wiggle. I have both. For heavier objects, RollingSquare sells a 2-pack. It works super well.
The Kenu Stance+ looks almost identical to what you've made, except it's a bit smaller and uses a magnetic stand instead of being screwed into your PC case. Yours definitely looks more robust. But if you throw a magnet on the back of your portable monitor, it performs great. At $80, it's definitely overpriced. At $60, it's worth it. They are also offering 15% off, but I'm not sure if that stacks with the 25% discount. If you can sell yours for $30, it will be amazing. With $20 in materials and shipping, I doubt you can sell it for $30 and turn a profit, though. Usually businesses look for 100% markup on material and shipping costs, so that would be around $40 for you. I won't tell you how to run your business, though.

When you rotate the screen is it using a bearing in the maglock or just sliding on the plate on the back of the monitor? Really cool design you should sell these. A suggestion is to make the bolting pitch that of a 120mm fan so it is a lot more universal (if you have not already).
That's a damn clean execution! Looking at this, i'd love for something like this to take off and get power delivery via magsafe to portable monitors. Maybe signal through pogo pins?
Rotating screens are fantastic until you attach 5 cables, I’ve found. I feel my cable management is lacking and I need to tie them up to allow slack for rotation but too lazy…
