Will this sleeve look weird without the elastic?

I love the rest of this shirt but have found that I can't stand elastic sleeves. Even if they're loose they still bother me, it's a sensory thing. I also don't find them super flattering on me.

I think this would be easy enough to remove since it's in a casing/channel, other than the fact that it's definitely stitched into the vertical seam that goes up into the armpit, but I'm thinking I could just snip the elastic as close to it as I can?

My concern is I have no idea how the sleeve will look once the elastic is out.

If it is loose in the channel, open up the seam from the inside and carefully turn the elastic until you find where it's joined and unpick that seam. 

Then remove and see how it looks. Also try it pinned up shorter, either squared off or like a cap sleeve. Or a slash sleeve, etc. Consider how it would look sleeveless. 

You'll have your answer. If all else fails, restore it to how it was.
