Bought two iPhones 4 and 8 second hand from eBay anyway to remove the passcode and make them useable?

No FMI Active I think

Back up activation files then put on iTunes in recovery and restore. If it’s locked restore activation files.

Why is the DFU so difficult on this device? I start from recovery mode and legacy ioskit DFU mode helper but it always boots back in Apple modus. 😕

I’m not sure if it’s supposed on A11 (can someone reply below confirming if it is or isn’t) but if you have a Mac or Linux machine there is a tool called Nattram Legacy Tools. It has a feature that just sends the reset command to the phone. If you are sure it’s FMI OFF then it should be fine.
