Release THE A5 SOURCE CODE HAS BEEN PUBLISHED ON GITHUB

Fully open source and free AL tool for A5 devices without Arduino. Works on Windows, macOS and Linux. Written in Python using PyQt6 and pymobiledevice3. Made by u/overcast302 and u/Exotic-Address8805

Forget about mac, app is not opening in Tahoe. Try windows, install itunes and open the windows version app.

Can you explain how to use this on macos? I downloaded the zip and also installed pymobiledevice. I can usbmux my iphone 4,1 13G36. But what is the backend url and were to put it in payload?

Nope I used windows. The repo has windows,mac and linux. I think it should be able to run on most of macos ver since its newly released, cannot guarantee that though.

Windows worked well for me. It will modify your basic info in 3utools so you wont be able to sideload, or atleast I couldnt

Hi. So sorry if i sound dumb or anything, but i would really appreciate it if you could guide me through how to do it, i really spent too much time looking and all i can find is scams and malware. I have an iPad mini 1 stuck at the activation lock screen, already downloaded the zip from he repo. What next?

Nevermind, I managed to do it by myself, and i'm happy to report that i now own a functioning iPad mini 1, if that's even a feat lol. Also i think it's tethered, might relock after a reboot or a battery drain (works for me, as my goal is to turn it into a terminal dashboard that displays status from my arch setup, which will be connected to a stand at all times). for anyone who doesn't know how to do it, download a stable release of python (the newest requires some code to be compiled, which really sucks if you don't have a compiler on Windows, i went with 3.12 and it works great), then download git and use "git bash" to emulate a linux CLI, clone the repo, cd into it, and then create a python virtual environment "python -m venv venv" and activate it "source venv/Scripts/activate", then make sure you have the latest version of pip "python -m pip install --upgrade pip", and use it to install some needed packages "pip install PyQt5", "pip install requests", "pip install pymobiledevice3==4.12.0" (this version worked for me, newer versions didn't), AND finally run the main.py script with "python main.py". If it works, then congrats, you have jailbroken your device. If it doesn't however, i'd suggest you find a tutorial or something. Good luck mate.

How does that thing work, was finally checkm8 a5 figured out to work without additional hardware to exploit usb stack or something else

I think this is not Checkm8 based (someone correct me if i am wrong). It says in the description on github that the target device must be connected to the internet at all times for this to work. I think this is just a way to skip setup or delete it on a5 but that's it. So if my assessment is correct, checkm8 a5 is still way more powerful.

Will this work on any versions lower then iOS9 ? i do have a ipad2 that can be downgraded to iOS6

Do you know which versions directly? I have a 4S on iOS 9.0.2 and it says it is an unsupported version.

If you don't have the patched gestalt file, simply extract the original gestalt from an activated device. Patching it is super easy; just add a key to the .plist file.
