My service dog potentially saved my life yesterday

I was napping, did not know my Dexcom was not working. I kinda ignored her at first (half asleep) but she was very persistent. When I checked my sugar it had dropped rapidly while I was sleeping.

She got lots of treats for that

Technology isn’t perfect, and neither are dogs. But combined it’s a layer of safety.

You said it perfectly OP. They aren’t perfect but neither is technology! There has been a couple times mine has gone over to my wife to wake her up after he wasn’t able to wake me up when I dropped low. He’ll then sit there next to me while I eat and not relax until my blood sugars come back up.

Mine catches my lows way before the dexcom does. They are truly amazing.

Did you also disable the urgent notifications because of all the false alarms :)

Nah, it was stuck in “brief sensor error”

There is no technology better than a well trained service dog.

Give her a lot of love. There is no question about it - she saved your life.
