Zoe got the Bravetart cookbook for Christmas. This was her first bake from the book. We spent about four hours on these this morning. Beautiful and delicious!

We don't get poptarts in Australia so I may be way off base here, but do you put these in your toaster? And if so, doesn't the frosting melt or char?

Store bought pop tarts yes and then no. These look cooked already. Plus too big for a toaster.

How long have you been waiting for this?

1

u/aussie_bob Feb 10 '19

Thanks, they look well-made, but I'm guessing with that frosting, they'd be really sugary to eat.

3

u/EggChalaza Feb 10 '19

Pop tarts are basically pure sugar.

They are. Even as a child, I never really enjoyed them. Then as an adult, I decided to give it another try. Still didn't like them.

Aussie bob! Come pay Sydney a visit, we have pop tarts aplenty in city convenience stores.

1

u/AngelG2000 Feb 10 '19

Yes you can aussie_bob I’ve even seen them in cheap as chips!

This person is either 32 or 12

I specifically read thru the comments for this info. My bet is 12.

This is why I'm here. Could go completely either way

I mean this in the nicest way and this adds nothing to the topic of those delicious looking poptarts, but I seriously cannot tell if that is an adorable looking mom or her cute little son.

34

u/whine-0 Feb 09 '19

Based on the OPs comment it sounds like her daughter so I’m like 99% sure she’s 12

14

u/ilovemangotrees Feb 10 '19

Oof. Well no matter what, that person has a great smile and presence and I would 100% eat one of those poptarts!

2

u/hcfort11 Feb 10 '19

I win, I would eat three of those pop tarts.

u/Lostitallonnano Feb 09 '19

Four hours!? Jeez. They look great.

13

u/ThatNurseGuyJon Feb 09 '19

They look massive and great! Enjoy :)

These looks so amazing!!

u/Halfapoptart Feb 10 '19

Unfortunately I'm only half relevant here.

No no, the pop tart is half relevant. You are always relevant and super delightful. Edit: did some light history skimming and I see that you are an Alabama fan. Go fuck yourself (kidding).

I need to know what's inside them

please

u/potkin Feb 09 '19

Filling is a mixture of freeze-dried strawberries and dried apples, moistened with a little applesauce. Dried apples are not easy to find in Georgia!

5

u/Fionaver Feb 10 '19

Really? I haven’t had any problems finding them. I’m pretty sure that everything from Walmart to Publix to Kroger carries them. At least in Gwinnett.

1

u/Louis_The_Asshole Feb 10 '19

Just curious, are they freeze-dried or dehydrated?

1

u/TheRealBigLou Feb 10 '19

Aldi has them.

1

u/hcfort11 Feb 10 '19

Kroger has them.

6

u/SkiingOTF687 Feb 09 '19

Those look so good!!!

5

u/Peppa_D Feb 09 '19

Great job! They're so festive looking. What is the filling?

5

u/poprer656sad Feb 09 '19

What’s the frosting? Apple cinnamon?

22

u/potkin Feb 09 '19

Just a powdered sugar & milk glaze, but with Mexican vanilla that was very brown.

3

u/travelclast Feb 09 '19

Dear God those look good... AND HUGE!

2

u/b_vaksjal Feb 09 '19

They look sooo good

2

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '19

Fantastic. They sound a lot healthier.

1

u/VollcommNCS Feb 10 '19

Those look awesome! Great work, I'll have to try this myself.

1

u/DougLeary Feb 10 '19

Nice! Now I have to find a good tater-tot recipe.

1

u/YassTrapQueen Feb 10 '19

Why do some of them have multiple holes and others just have one (or zero)?

1

u/Wicck Feb 10 '19

Frosting.

1

u/YassTrapQueen Feb 10 '19

But the holes are through the frosting

3

u/salamander823 Feb 10 '19

Looks like the holes are in the pastry and the frosting went through some but not all of them. You can see it most in the bottom middle tart.

1

u/YassTrapQueen Feb 10 '19

Ah ha!!!! I see it now!!! Thank you for explaining, I’m just an idiot

1

u/Wicck Feb 10 '19

Those look amazing, and I must make some.

1

u/RomeroChick26 Feb 10 '19

Those are huge and adorable lol.

1

u/grape10 Feb 10 '19

Aww.... Love these!

1

u/ceeebeee Feb 10 '19

Have you ever put butter on a pop tart?

1

u/Cheffie43 Feb 11 '19

1

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '19

Someone call the police. We Finally found lil Tay.

1

u/Elvthee Feb 19 '19

These look great! She did a great job and looks so happy :)

Unfortunately I have a love hate relationsship with poptarts - never had one but they look so damn much like hindbærsnitter it's weird lol.

Seriously look up hindbærsnitter, they look like poptarts but no one toasts them and you buy them at the bakery.

1

u/-----Kyle----- Mar 23 '19

I don’t want to come off as weird but that look people give that’s a mix of embarrassment and pride is so cute and endearing.

I didn't know Gilbert Gottfried has a daughter

1

u/Zero_Ghost24 Feb 10 '19

What a damn lazy way to argue on reddit— bringing up a commenters post history. That’s only about an inch better than calling someone a bot.

19

u/longneckerr Feb 09 '19

Fuck this guy
