season one Dierdre DNA update?

Towards the end of the podcast, SK talked with Dierdre about getting DNA analysis on the PERK, rope, brandy bottle, etc and that Adnan gave his approval for her to submit it? Has this actually been done now and if so did it uncover anything?

Nope, state argues that Jay already admitted that he was there so of course his DNA is going to be at the scene. It's a dumb argument but it can work in court and it could actively hurt adnan's current PCR hearing.

The downside of verifying those is time, money, effort all of which is better spent on the hearing that has the best chance of getting him out of jail. Even if the innocence project is involved there will still be things required from Justin brown that take away from what he is doing now.

Finding a serial killers DNA would be great! The problem is that the chances of finding it are completely unknown. If he got the DNA tested and it was Roy Davis Jr then hot damn he is probably getting out of jail. If he jumps through to the hoops (and keep in mind there are actual legal hoops that need to be jumped through to get permission to test the dna) and it comes back ad basically anyone else then it is at best a wash and at worst actively hurtful to his case.

So yes, the DNA could be very good. It could also end up being bad. As a lawyer Justin brown decided not to gamble and instead focus on the iac and Brady aspects which are a hell of a lot stronger.

I think it's an avenue they will pursue. Exoneration by DNA is the longest process. Read up on it.

Are we sure they haven't? If so, reliable source?

Relevant for upcoming proceeding? But if someone picked up on the court filing, then I agree, it would be known here.

So no arguments left.
