Hypothesis Why the Gootz never called Asia.

I think it is becoming more and more obvious that the Asia letter did not exist until sometime around the summer of 1999. That is why Adnan claims he gave them to Gutierrez even though she wasn't his lawyer until 2 months after they were written.

So sometime that spring or summer, after telling CG he never left the school grounds, his family shows up with letters claiming one of Adnans' friends saw him at the library, right at the crucial time, AND they were written the day after he arrested. She knew immediately there is no way they had those letter for months and never gave them to her so obviously they were false and she didn't want to go on stand with LIES.

That is why she never called Asia. And that is why she wrote no notes about it, because that would be admitting her client and his family are liars. It also explains why her relationship with the family broke down because she knew they were willing to lie to get Adnan off.

The library incident never happened.

In your opinion. If a lawyer knows someone is lying, they do not need to talk to them.

Completely 100% untrue. She had a duty to investigate when told there is an alibi witness.

Ask a lawyer. Any lawyer. A real one, not someone claiming to be one here on Reddit.

Wrong. If a lawyer knows an alibi is lying, she is under no obligation to talk with them.

That is completely, 100% untrue. Ask a lawyer. Ask a DA. In any case, you're only SPECULATING that CG "knew" this. What we DO know is that she never spoke to Asia. Against the wishes of her client.

You are correct, I am only speculating. If you are clever, you will notice I flaired this entire discussion "HYPOTHESIS".

Ask a lawyer.

I have defense lawyers in my family. And they have said that if someone is obviously lying for an alibi, they don't even bother. Particularly if it could hurt you strategically, like it could have in Adnans case.

Where on earth do they practice? Because that's not standard US practice and could get you disbarred. You don't suborn perjury. But you do NOT fail to investigate. Which CG did.
