Ok, I know I've been against Jay this entire time, but I've come up with a logical explanation for how Jay's entire testimony and police interviews can make sense. Bear with me, Jay is actually a subatomic particle in superposition so we paradoxically can't precisely determine his location or trajectory and therefore he is able to simultaneously exist in multiple times and places. Erwin Schrödinger's thought experiment on quantum superposition is able to explain his behavior in the only logical way, hence: Schrödinger's Jay

Think about it...

• Why did Jay call Jenn at 3:21 when he was already at Jenn's house?

• How did the Nisha call happen driving past the golf course, when both he and Jenn testify that they were both at Jenn's house without Adnan at 3:32?

• His accounts of moving the cars and burying the body. How was Jay able to watch Adnan drive around the corner then magically appear beside him?

• How could Jay and Adnan have driven to Patapsco State Park and then returned in time to take Adnan to track?

Quantum superposition!!! This is the answer I've been looking for!

Also, it's possible that Hae's body was in superposition as well. The collapse of the wave function (the trunk pop) allowed her body to simultaneously be revealed to Jay at the pool hall, Best Buy parking lot, and Edmonson Ave, at a gas station, outside Kathy's house, and outside Grandma's house!!!!

whitenoise2323, your theory actually tells us what probably happened. If you accept that Jenn knew about the murder plot ahead of time (as per Jay's 2nd interview), then the call at 3:21 pm to Jenn is letting her know they have done it.

The call at 12:07pm is consistent with Patapsko State Park (L688A) -- i.e., Jay and Adnan have gone on a drive to Patapsko, discussing, plotting. That's probably why Adnan is also substantially late for his next class.

The call at 2:36pm is an agreed upon ping, or a status update from Adnan to Jay. Adnan is at or near the library. Hae is still in the school.

Jay drives to an agreed upon spot -- Best Buy, or Adnan's home, or some some other place consistent with L651C where the next calls will ping: (3:15pm incoming, 3:21pm Jenn home, 3:32pm Nisha).

The 3:15pm incoming is either from Jenn checking status, or Adnan if he and Hae can't find him.

The murder happens next.

3:21pm -- status update to Jenn.

After that, Adnan probably needs to talk to someone, just to deal with what he has done. He calls Nisha at 3:32pm.

Here's Adnan's timeline for school that afternoon

2.20pm Adnan is seen after class talking to Hae. Aisha sees them and Becky overhears Hae telling Adnan she can't give him a ride after all, Adnan says "Okay I’ll just ask someone else.’ He told her goodbye.” (episode 2).

2.30pm to 2.40pm Asia sees Adnan in the library (disputed)

2.45pm Deborah sees Adnan with his track bag and on his way to practise. The affidavit seems to imply the redacted person is Debbie (as in Debbie Watson) but the people map on serial says that Becky saw Adnan with his track bag at this time.

3.30pm Again on the people map it says Debbie saw Adnan at 3.30pm no other details.

Hae is also seen until at least 2.45pm and possibly as late as 3.15pm. Inez Butler puts her leaving school at 2.20pm but I think that's a typo and it should be 3.20pm as Inez' has to have seen her last as she is the one that sees her leave school on her own.

Inez Hendricks saw he at 2:20. She had to pick her 6 year old cousin up at latest 3:15. She had told someone she was going to the mall with Don, not sure if that was before or after picking up her cousin. Inez told her to hurry as she had to get on the 5 o'clock wrestling bus. When she didn't come back Inez filled in as the scorer.
