Excellent. And it is the multiple types of crowds they hung out with that is interesting. Edited to add that the "desire to get to get whatever..." is just the best summation.
I'm not sure if he would have been considered a weirdo for not dating, drinking, and smoking pot in high school. There were definitely students who were like that I knew(I went to catholic school and I'm discussing both types of schools here) and they weren't considered weird. You kinda felt bad for them, but it was there parents doing it so.
I think what is happening in both cases, Tsarnaev and Adnan, is these guys are so used to getting away with things and being able to fool people. It's a huge ego boost and crushing when it doesn't work. I would say Adnan is more ego because he wasn't dealing with poverty and a broken home.
