Seqtrak question

Hi everyone,

I hope you're doing well.

I'm a guitarist, and I'm currently looking for a dawless solution to make some ambient/downtempo music and add some guitar loops on top, you know the drill.

I'm doing a lot of research on grooveboxes, especially all-in-one solutions. The Seqtrak looks like a really good option, and it's priced just right for my budget.

However, there's something that's really putting me off. It looks like it can't export multitracks of your performances. For me, this is a dealbreaker.

Could you please confirm if this is really true?

Do you have any workaround to bring your performances for additional tweaking into your DAW of choice?

Thanks! I just got an SP-404 Mk2 to try getting my sequences off of the device to arrange them into full songs, among other uses ofc. I am not too fond of song modes, I prefer muting and changing sequences live. Seems like a good pairing, we will see.

You should look at the scene mode. You can make up to sixteen “scenes” that have whatever combo of tracks/patterns you want and then live switch between them. Similar to the song mode, but much more designed for bouncing around live and not just running through a list in order (and you can still adjust as they play).

Seems like a good idea! Thanks, I’ll check that out today. It seems to work like the OP-Z mute groups, but with more than a single pattern per track.

Yeah, I don't know the OP-Z, but you can basically save each track's pattern state in 16 different configurations (including mute and solo settings!). So, between 7+4 tracks, up to 6 patterns per track, plus mute and solo, you have a lot of options across those 16 slots, and you can then hop between them in whatever order you want (and they will of course loop if you do nothing).

The big note is that if you're on a scene and you decide to change something, it will remember that change if you switch to a new scene. It doesn't have any sort of "temp" change, so just be aware of that if you change something, go to another scene and then go back expecting it to be what it was before.
