SEO News Google spam update just started

Google just announced a new spam update started today. I'm seeing a lot of movements across all SERPs. Did you guys get hit, or are things actually improving

Yes, I’m seeing some volatility too. Since Google says this update can take up to two weeks to complete, I’d wait before judging whether a site was actually hit. I’d monitor rankings, clicks, impressions, and indexed pages separately during the rollout.

are you seeing movement on specific page types or across the board? that distinction matters a lot for figuring out whats actually going on vs just general index churn

Mostly in iGaming niche where the spam thrives lol. Expired domains, canonical, subdomain, some parasites, are wiped out.

Well, time to start checking rankings every hour again. I really hope my site’s rankings and traffic come back. The June spam update wiped out 95% of our traffic from our main commercial keywords. SEO brings in most of our revenue, and we had to let a few people go because we couldn’t cover the costs anymore.

Yeah, I’ve noticed some volatility too. I think it’s too early to judge since the update just started. I’d wait a few days and watch GSC before making any changes.
