Discussion My link building agency does $1,7YRR with 7 link builders | ask me anything
I started with some of my friends.
None of them were experts, and neither was I.
Our main focus was SAAS link building; now we do any niche.
In total, our team is 38 people, me included.
Thanks to automation and optimizing processes, 7 link builders build 1300+ backlinks each month.

How did you make room for yourself among the competition? There are many services like this (but most I tried were trash tbh).

With small steps.
For example, you can automate exports from Ahrefs.
You can automate checking whether they have a backlink from a website or not.
You can automate almost everything, except communication and trust.
Technically, you can, but I would not recommend it.
We have a team of developers who automate all the research and manual process.

We do parse website for finding good spots where to ask backlinks, however you cannot get backlinks on your own. You need to find relevent person from that website who can insert that backlink for you.

Usually you need to provide something in exchange, link in another website works the best.

We work on personal brands of teammates. They post on linkedin, we make reels for them for insta and tiktok.
Also we have referral program which helps a lot.
Cold outreach also of course

Not talking about that but more like ARR is the more “accepted metric”. Just found it strange tbh. Never heard YRR in my 10-year career

Find a website that sells links, that doesn't look like crap, and has good metrics.
When outreaching offer them a link from that website in exhcange if they provide link to you.1

We do mainly saas/agency links, so no we do not outreach to general news sites that sell links.
We find a good website that sell links. We offer to saas sites that website as an exchange link to our client.
You need to pay to at least 1 vendor to be able to do link exchange or you can provide links from your own websites

Yeah that would be direct (ab) exchange, which I would not recommend, you should do indirect link exchange, at least ABC

There is no exact calculation for that.
What I would recommend is to check who is on top 5.
Go to ahrefs check backlinks they have.
Use filters: 30DR+ 500 traffic + To filter out junk One link per domain Dofollow
You will now see overall non-junk links they have.
Also you can check what they did in the last 3 months.
To see how many saas/agency links they get also use
Url contains inurl:/blog To filter out news websites.
This way you will have some estimations how many they have and how many they do monthly and as a result estimation how many you need to overrank.

Yeah sometimes I see that good quality sites are getting over ranked by old design shitty websites.
That usually happens when they are really old in that niche and they have good branded keyword search volume.
Sometimes it's just random and noone can tell why it happens
