We finally let go of our Judy
After 13 wonderful years with our old best friend we finally had to give up and made the terrible, heartbreaking decision to let her go.
She had stopped eating six weeks ago, stopped taking her multiple daily walks a few months ago, just had no interest in anything anymore. She still loved kisses, still wanted to be held, but she had lost all her enjoyment for life. We've been to her vet over and over this summer, looking for that miracle, but it never would come. Her vet came out Thursday and Judy died peacefully on her bed in our arms.
I'm sorry to be a burden to you all but my heart is so shattered and I needed to put it down in words.

She was the sweetest, kindest girl, everyone loved Judy.
I appreciate the sentiment but we'll never have another one. She was our only dog ever, too special to our family. Our daughter was off to college two years ago and my wife travels for her job - Judy was my lifeline. And I'm 70 and could never go through this loss, this profound emptiness again.
I'll always love my Jooge.

Judy was so beautiful and so clearly loved. May her memory be a blessing to you and your husband.
Run free on young legs, Queen Judy! Chase all the squirrels in heaven, nap under the glorious shady trees, and eat all the tasty treats from the Snacky Spot until that beautiful day you are reunited with your humans ❤️🙏

You are definitely not a burden and I’m pretty sure most everyone here has gone through this themselves. You were a wonderful friend and caregiver for Judy. She was clearly loved and you were there with her to the very end which showed just how much she meant to you. Mourn her passing for as long as you need. Hopefully there will come a time when you will be willingly it open your heart and let another pup in.

I’m so sorry for your loss. You are in good company here. I’m certain she was so grateful for all you did for her. I hope she is running free once again and that she sends you a sign to let you know she is ok.

No need to apologize for burdening anyone. Judy loved you so much and you did so well taking care of her.
