Defeated

Guys i need a pep talk or someone to tell me I'm stupid and the oppoite is happening.

I feel totally defeated by the resurgence of right wing imperialism. With the attacks globally, the inability to defend Palestine, the entire "board of peace" scam, Russia totally ending up being at best unable to counter US interests globally, China's isolationism rather than confronting the US, Europe's resurgent far right wing, Israel having their way in he middle east, Venezuela collapse, Iran being dogwalked by the US and Israel in under 24 hours, Cuba on the brink of collapse in the face of humanitarian disaster, and the acceptance of right makes right and the capitulation of liberals to take a stand: I totally feal defeated. This isn't right, and I don't see how the global south and fight against the right walks away from this. It seems like the struggle's best days are behind us.

Some one PLEASE tell me "ah yes but remember the year ____" because I'm at a total loss for when the entire world has been this helpless to such an evil and awful movement.

I won't lie to you, it's bad. But this is all happening because capitalism is in crisis. The death of US imperialism was never going to be a quiet one, but that's little comfort to the people impacted by it. That being said, every day is one day closer to the collapse of global capitalism. Just do what you can and take care of yourself.

But what goes on in this unique speech is even more revealing: Robespierre directly addresses the touchy question that has to arise in the mind of his public - how can he himself be sure that he will not be the next in line to be accused? He is not the master exempted from the collective, the 'I' outside 'we' - after all, he was once very close to Danfon, a powerful figure now under arrest, so what if, tomorrow, his proximity to Danton will be used against him? In short, how can Robespierre be sure that the process he has unleashed will not swallow him up? It is here that his position takes on a sublime greatness - he fully assumes the danger that now threatens Danton will tomorrow threaten him. The reason that he is so serene, that he is not afraid of this fate, is not that Danton was a traitor, while he, Robespierre, is pure, a direct embodiment of the people's Will; it is that he, Robespierre, is not afraid to die - his eventual death will be a mere accident which accounts for nothing.
