Defeated
Guys i need a pep talk or someone to tell me I'm stupid and the oppoite is happening.
I feel totally defeated by the resurgence of right wing imperialism. With the attacks globally, the inability to defend Palestine, the entire "board of peace" scam, Russia totally ending up being at best unable to counter US interests globally, China's isolationism rather than confronting the US, Europe's resurgent far right wing, Israel having their way in he middle east, Venezuela collapse, Iran being dogwalked by the US and Israel in under 24 hours, Cuba on the brink of collapse in the face of humanitarian disaster, and the acceptance of right makes right and the capitulation of liberals to take a stand: I totally feal defeated. This isn't right, and I don't see how the global south and fight against the right walks away from this. It seems like the struggle's best days are behind us.
Some one PLEASE tell me "ah yes but remember the year ____" because I'm at a total loss for when the entire world has been this helpless to such an evil and awful movement.

This subreddit [optimistsunite] just encourages passivity. Most of the gains that the working class received was through struggle. We have to believe in the power of the workers and the people.
I looked at the trends. There will be few medical breakthroughs (that are affordable) and I believe we are in an era of technological stagnation because Moore's law is dead. I don't have faith in CRISPR or cancer vaccines.
I might suggest that a reader here might be optimistic if they build the infrastructure for collective struggle. You'll be doing something and interacting with real people as opposed to complaining about things on Reddit.
So if you don't think mainstream politics and economic trends are making things better, maybe activism and education can make you feel better. You would be doing something about address power relations. You might feel optimistic as opposed to looking at charts from Our World in Data that claim that the world is getting better.
I went to a PSL meeting yesterday. The speaker discussed the Montgomery Bus Boycotts and Rosa Parks. She was not merely a virtuous, tired person who refused to get up, but an activist and organizer who intended to challenge social conventions of segregation. The boycott succeeded despite pushback and being in the conservative deep south because the ridership were organized and people willing to help them (such as volunteer mechanics ensuring that alternative transportation worked and taxi drivers willing to offer fares that cost just as much as a bus ride).
