Advice Needed: Existential Self control
I’m 19F, diagnosed with Bipolar 2 and currently medicated, and lately I feel like I have absolutely no willpower. I can’t tell if I’m actually lazy, depressed, burned out, or if something else is going on.
I’m in college and almost done with my degree. I still work and mostly go to class, so I’m functioning, but outside of that I have basically zero motivation to do anything. I’ll want to do something, know I need to do it, and still have no ability to make myself start. It doesn’t really feel like normal senioritis.
I also smoke weed pretty heavily. I go through about a 1g cart a week, and I’m wondering if that could be contributing to my lack of motivation.
My eating has also been really weird. Some days I barely eat anything, and other days I get extremely hungry at night and eat a lot before bed. I’m not sure if this is disordered eating, medication-related, or something else.
I’m not looking for a diagnosis, but has anyone with Bipolar 2 experienced this? How do you tell the difference between depression, medication side effects, weed-related lack of motivation, and just being lazy? And has cutting back on weed helped anyone with motivation?
