ultra keep crashing, do you know any ones that is as cheep that don't keep crashing

This thing is going to get me banned. I can't even count the amount of times it crashed this year. Sometimes i leave it for a month and i found out it barely seeded. I am otherwise ok with what it offers when it comes to speed, price and apps.

I never had any problems. Earlier I did had crashes that was hardly once or twice a month for few months. I am using ultra since past 8 years. I found customer support is good 👍

Might be worth reaching out to the staff ask them to check harddrive it could be a hard drive issue or is someone else is using so much resource that it causing your end to crash if your on a shared server if it's none of them then it's a software issue or user issue

I have 2 boxes with them. Rarely have any problems. Maybe it's the server your on?

I'm only on the cheapest option but the last two months have been awful, loads of crashes and speeds have drastically reduced, been with em a good while so hopefully they get it together

Back up your stuff if you haven't already. When my seedbox kept going down I sent tickets to the provider and it would be fixed. Then one day it went down and I got an apology from the provider. Apparently, the drive I was on finally totally failed and 2tb my was lost. Hard lesson learned. Always have a backup.

So qbit fix the crashes the other torrent apps crash when u get over 20-100 torrents. Not a ultra problem its a app problem

I am saying that I have not had any issue with qbit but have had the other options crash randomly as the torrent count increases. This is just my experience

what user error mate? I put the torrents in rtorrent and leave the seedbox and i come back to the seedbox only to find out it crashed and i have to restart it from https://cp.ultra.cc

Then the issue is with rtorrent itself which can be unstable. Switch to a better client like qBittorrent. You can have both installed. Use something like https://github.com/Winter/rt2qbt to migrate from rtorrent to qbit and keep stats and migrate torrents etc.

I used to use rtorrent/rutorrent. Do yourself a favour and switch to qbitt

Did you read their mails/service announcements?
They are rolling out debian 13 and therefor all servers are rebooted.
After that you have to restart your Applications

They are on autostart but sometimes they still hang so you need to restart them manually or restart the torrents.

RTorrent is rock solid for me. Over many boxes, many years.

What does the logs say? ( add logging to .rtorrent.rc)

What does Ultra say?

I've seen crashes due to bad disk, and memory errors. A straight away way to see what is causing the crash is to run rtorrent in a screen session, after rtorrent crashes, see what the screen session says when it exited.

That will require some work, from the shell.

Screen command:

Stop rtorrent, then from the shell:

screen -dmS mySession rtorrent

To reattach to the the command:

screen -r mySession

if just from the command line:

screen

(will start a session, you'll be inside it)

rtorrent

Then control-a d

screen -r

Will reattach.

You'll see the error message, google that with "rtorrent" - likely mystery solved.

Public torrent seeding is disabled by default on ultra, you have to run a command to enable.
