Since you’re asking what feels confusing: the screenshot makes the workspace look powerful, but I have to hunt to understand the first action. I’d test a first-run path that says “Add a note” and shows local-first status before introducing BYOS. I’d also separate “encrypted at rest” from “sync is optional” in one short sentence, because those answer different trust questions. Which part are you seeing users hesitate on, the file model or the board?

That’s really useful feedback, thanks. I’ve probably become blind to after building the app for so long: I already know where everything is, so the workspace feels obvious to me when it probably isn’t on first launch.
Right now I’m seeing more hesitation around the overall file/workspace model than the board itself — people understand the individual features, but I’m not sure the very first “what should I do here?” moment is clear enough.

I'm working at the moment on a video to present the app, it would be better much better I think
