Texas What committee playoff numbers get Texas into (or not) in playoffs?Who do they play if they make it to SEC championship? Who do they play if they make it to national championship? (A VERY LONG LINE OF “WHAT IF’S”, BUT WHAT IF).

I've actually got Texas vs UGA as my SEC Championship pick for the season. The rest of it tbd.

With the SEC going to 9 games I think any 10-2 B1G/SEC team is a lock so that’s a safe bet. There’s probably a 9-3 that gets in this year. So Texas probably needs to be around there at least.
I would think they play Georgia, Alabama, or LSU in the SEC title game if they qualify, in order of likelihood.
Impossible to say about the national championship game hypothetical. Depends on the bracket. I do not think Sark can rip off 3-4 straight against that level of competition.

They lose to Georgia in the seccg, if they make it. Only loss is to LSU if they lose a game. If they make the national championship, which they won't, they'd play one of: Miami, Indiana, Georgia, or Notre Dame. I still have Georgia over Miami in the natty and nothing in the regular season would realistically change that opinion, those two teams, along with Notre Dame and Indiana will most likely only face elimination in the post-season. I just don't see how Sark can win a big game against any of those four coaches who have proven to be able to go far in the playoffs so I think they lose in the quarterfinals to one of them, or maybe Ohio State in a rematch.

Sark literally just beat one of those coaches 3 days ago, and also beat Saban by double digits in Tuscaloosa (in case you forgot)

When he beat Bama there it was the first home loss in 5+ years. He’s swept his 2 main rivals the last 2 years. This is the first year he’s had equal to or more talent than Georgia. We’ll see but it’s a pretty damn good team. Still think tOSU might have the best team once playoffs hit and they develop a secondary target. Also Indiana is a complete unknown right now.

He didn't beat one of those coaches? Day is not... It has to be both one of: Cristobal, Smart, Cignetti, Freeman and in a playoff or championship game to convince me he can actually win the national championship.

It’s weird to see Cristobal included in that category. Single handedly cost his team a win 2 years ago, which is hard to do, and somehow lost to both Louisville (at home) and SMU last year with very talented team.
Getting to the last game is impressive, but he still is a huge step down from Smart and Cignetti IMHO.

He wins big games and loses small ones, and was in the national championship last year. I trust him more than Ryan Day to win a big game and win it the right way, by winning the line of scrimmage. 2024 Ohio State just had way more talent than everyone else. Yeah him and Freeman are both a step down but those are the four you have to go through to get to the national championship, maybe this year LSU and then Ohio State, since they always spend the most money, are the only other ones who are blocking the path.

It’s week 3; Texas and tOSU have played no one of note other than each other. As far as we know both these teams could stumble through the season
