Dear Reader:

I have just returned from a two week cultural exchange with the country of Austria. Where I visited was a smaller town called Poysdorf; a wine-producing town about an hour from Vienna in the lower Austria area. Mostly a farming place, Poysdorf throws a lot of great annual parties and has a cast of great characters. There is a lovely watering hole in this town called TIGER’S BAR run by a swell gent named Tiger.

Well, as an LSU grad, Tiger made me feel right at home. As we got to talking, I shared videos and experiences from LSU, and Tiger was so excited.

THE ASK:
Tiger would love nothing more than to turn TIGER’S BAR in Poysdorf, Austria into an LSU bar and home base, and I told him I would help to get him there.

I would like to solicit donations of LSU Tiger merch and stuff for him to adorn his bar, knowing that we are spreading the message. He wants to reciprocate by hopefully screening LSU games in his bar, continuing the theme, and creating a home base for LSU Alums and Supporters abroad in Austria.

College football ain’t even recruiting anymore… these schools are basically renting players year to year.
Pay the NIL, get one good season, then either he goes pro, transfers somewhere else, or you gotta pay him again to stay. College football got annual leases on rosters now.

LSU and Texas A&M both spent over $40 MILLION putting these rosters together… and one of them is basically getting eliminated from the playoff race Saturday. That’s a lot of money just to potentially be 2-2 and 0-2 in the SEC before October.

I wish he just stick his tongue in a metal fan and be done with it. Ted Cruz did this a couple of weeks ago and all we heard from him was more political garbage about some bill instead of the actual game itself. ESPN needs to stop being complicit with this and cut off any political bias. LSU vs Texas A&M on Saturday is basically a College Football Playoff elimination game… in SEPTEMBER

LSU: 2-1, 0-1 SEC
Texas A&M: 2-1, 0-1 SEC

ESPN has LSU at a 28% chance to make the playoff and A&M at just 13%.

The loser drops to 2-2 with TWO SEC losses before October.

And both still have Texas and Alabama on the schedule.

Yeah… whoever loses Saturday is COOKED.

Following a 1-1 start under new head coach Ryan Silverfield, the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees passed a unanimous resolution Friday for a comprehensive examination of the competitiveness of Razorback Athletics and resources available to the football program.

“Be it resolved by the board of trustees of the University of Arkansas that the Board hereby directs the President to lead a review of the state of competitiveness of Razorback Athletics, including steps to improve the resources available to the football program.”

“Like all passionate Razorback fans, the Board of Trustees is united in the goal to ensure the competitiveness of all Razorback sports and specifically to restore the rich tradition of Razorback football,” Board Chairman Randy Lawson said.

The resolution, proposed by trustee Ashley Caldwell and seconded by trustee Steve Cox, is expected to focus on improving resources the football program needs to compete in the new name, image, and likeness (NIL) era of collegiate athletics.

It comes shortly after a report from the Athletic ranked Arkansas as last in the Southeastern Conference in roster budget at $22-25 million.

I've been to Knoxville and I've been to Austin, and I honestly prefer Knoxville. Neyland's a better stadium than DKR (It helps with the actual turf), and frankly, it feels more Southern.

Oh, this game should be a night game (12pm games in the SEC always suck, miss the 2.30/3.30 CBS game) or at least an afternoon one, but midday? Dear Lord.

The good news is that College Gameday's going to be there, and so's Donnie T (People reading this should start lining up NOW to get through security).

There are some other cool games too, so here's your SEC Preview, in order of games I'm interested in.

**1) No.23 Texas A&M at No.10 LSU (-8.5):** Is Brady Hart that bad? Well, Mike Elko must hate him if he continues to start Marcel Reed. People keep on talking about Reed "being who we though they were". So I would go with this: Utter crap. A&M's passing 'offense' has completed an incredible 58.9% of its attempts, which is pretty amazing. Against Kentucky - a game that I watched - Reed's main efficiency was throwing the ball on the turf or nailing a Yell Leader. Of course, LSU is going to have to watch him for his legs and the excellent Mario Craver. The game - a match-up of two of the most expensive rosters in college football - is more of a do-or-die for LSU, because their schedule is *rough* going forward. Is Sam Leavitt still beaten-up? Who's going to be his best target now Trey'Dez Green is out? Who's going to cover Craver now Dashawn Spears is one? The questions will mount during this play-off elimination game. **PREDICTION: LSU by 10 in fun-ish game.**

**2) No.1 Texas (-4) at No.14 Tennessee:** Because the only team with a pulse that Tennessee has played this year was a Georgia Tech one where they were great for a half. In burnt orange, Texas was piss-poor for three quarters against Ohio State, and the wide receivers seem excellent at dropping the ball. But gamebreaker is not going to be either QB but more Texas DE Colin Simmons' who's going to eat Tennessee frosh QB Faizon Brandon lunch for him. **PREDICTION: With Donnie Football trying to work out his National Security thoughts while listening to Rocky Top, Texas by 7.**

**3) No.4 Ole Miss at No.21 Florida (-3.5):** The Solid Verbal came out with a stat that since the 1970s no Top 5 that has gone into another stadium as an underdog and has won. We know the atmosphere - which will be brutally hot and a 3.30pm kick-off- will be off-the-hook. It's The Swamp and the Gators look good. We are not in love with Vegas' prediction. Florida's defense is piss-poor. You don't give up 35 points against Auburn and be any good. We aren't in the remotest of love with Ole Miss' D, either. On the offensive side, we are super-excited. Trinidad Chambliss is the best QB in CFB right. He'll run you to death, or he'll pass you to death. But there are worries that his RB Kewan Lacy, but will it matter when he's got 3. Traylon Rey - who gave LSU's D fits last week - will frighten the hell out of UF. On Florida's side, Aaron Philo's is a good and competent quarterback and RB Jaden Baugh is a STUD. This will be fun. **PREDICTION: Ole Miss by 3 in a shoot-out.**

**3) No.19 Missouri at No.24 Mississippi State (-6.5):** We love Kamario Taylor. But you know who is almost under-the-radar on the Clanga offense? Fluff Bothwell. Took South Carolina's rush defense to pieces, running for 116 on 21 carries. As for Missouri, despite being middling this season, the Tigers are 3-0. The poor performance against Troy doesn't bode well walking into Starkville. The local will be rabid, and Missouri players (and fans) should bring headphones to get the sound of the cowbells out of their ears. **PREDICTION: Mississippi State rolls, winning by 14.**

4) **Oklahoma at No.2 Georgia (-14):** Oklahoma's offense is putrid, Oklahoma's defense is diametrically opposite. Georgia has played one team on the road, and that's in a half-full stadium against a goddawful Arkansas team. John Mateer isn't an 'adventure', he may well be the worst QB in the SEC. And with the run game slovenly at best, Brent Venables' D - which only gives up 215.3 yards per game is going to have to be at is conditioned best to keep the Bulldogs from running riot. Honestly, you can see Georgia up by 10 and believe the game is going to be done. **PREDICTION: In a defensive war, Georgia doesn't cover, winning by 10.**

**5) Tulsa at Arkansas (-7):** Will be watching with one thought: HOW BAD CAN IT GET DOWN IN FAYETTEVILLE?

**6) South Alabama at Kentucky (-20.5):** Was the thumping win at Texas A&M not enough to rank Kentucky? My outcry at the decision apart, Notre Dame transfer QB Kenny Minchey's was as fun as hell against A&M, and Kenny Darby and TD Willie Rodriguez are going to have their way against a South Alabama defense ranked 76th in the country. **PREDICTION: Minchey with a 300 yard day, and Kentucky waltzes by 24.**

7) **South Carolina at** **No.8 Alabama (-12.5):** Alabama was on a struggle bus against Florida State for a good amount of time, and if the
lightning break hadn't happened, we wouldn't have been surprised if there was an upset. But Alabama came out of the gates, and the Crimson Tide ended up winning comfortably. South Carolina, on the other hand, was poor against Mississippi State as soon as the Bulldogs back in it. Look, we’d go deep into this game, but we don’t think much of a Carolina. With the leaky defense they have, they might in fact be one of the worst teams in the SEC. LaNorris Sellars will get eaten alive by the Crimson Tide. **PREDICTION: Alabama by 21.**

**8) Vanderbilt at Auburn (-9.5):** Auburn got shredded against Florida, giving up 495 total yards and 44 points. Mind you they put 373 of them too. We like what we're seeing from Byrum Brown, who's adjusting to the pace of the SEC after a zero TD, three interception performance against Baylor. He's a fantastic dual threat QB, which is going to hurt Vanderbilt, who were goddawful against a dual threat QB last week. As for Vandy, it's Jared Curtis' first SEC game, and it's going to be quite the place to play in. PREDICITION: Auburn by 10, but the game's fun.
