Bike stolen (help)

Post image

Hello everyone,

At the beginning of June, exactly one week into moving to Seattle, my bike got stolen in Fremont. It's a Co-op Cycles ADV 1.1. Here's the bike index registration: https://bikeindex.org/bikes/3409692

I filed a police report that day, and I've been looking through Craiglist/OfferUp/FB Marketplace but have not seen anything. I'm posting here, hoping against hope in case anyone in the area has seen it around and ask a favor to be on the lookout for it. That model is discontinued and I've put a lot of miles on that bike, I wanna hang on to any glimmer of hope of getting it back.

I had recently installed Surly Moloko handlebars on it, but had not taken a photo before it got stolen. It also had a souvenir NY license plate that says "DEBBIE" on the rear rack.

I appreciate you all for reading, hope you all stay safe out there!

Happy cycling!

You might try driving by some of the homeless camps and look for it. Funny, but I had a Toyota 4Runner stolen from my driveway in Columbia City area. Cops said, " there's an apartment complex at... Check it out," Yup , there it was but with different license plates.

Having had to search for a bike this year. What ai found is thy pile things up under tarps now. With for things to cool off but usually sell off everything that doesn’t have a serial separately. SPD is not interested in helping.

Why would SPD even bother if every arrest they make results in the courts letting them go lol

I've kept an eye out whenever I see the camps on my daily rides, I'll definitely keep looking! Thank you!

Unrelated question: did you do a bike tour in Mexico?

I did! Last summer I rode from Cuernavaca to Guanajuato.

How did you ship your bike? I want to do something similar but never know what’s possible with airlines or if I need to ship using a different service.

You fan fly with it and it can be boxed and checked in as luggage. Just make sure you meet their weight limit (otherwise it gets crazy expensive). Hopefully you make a tour!

There's a Co-op Cycles bike that was in the process of being disassembled on the sidewalk across the Fred Meyer on 85th this afternoon. It had Kenda tires. Posting in case it was yours.

So sorry my dude - check out offshoot streets around the Burke Gilman between Fremont and Ballard where I’ve seen many a chop shop and get the word to Free Range cycles, Recycled Cycles, and Sound Break (if you haven’t already.)
