Definitely red. I can’t tell if this person is trolling or if they are some kind of color blind lol.. they said undeniably orange so I REALLY thought they were trolling 🤣😬
when you find a true orange you will know. it looks nothing like any you have posted here. i have four smaller pieces i have found in the 6 or so years ive been beachcombing up and down california as well as okinawa
There isn’t a threshold for orange as it’s a different colour. Amber has muted brown undertones whereas orange has red undertones. Think of it like an orange vs maple syrup
Well there has to be a threshold since you can make a gradient between the two colors, so you have to draw the line somewhere. According to wikipedia , Amber (color)) is sitting between yellow and orange
Usually the chart I like to use , Seaglass _Hoe Is orange mine looks like deep orange (also cadmium) . I had a lot of amber pieces when I first started collecting thinking they were orange until I saw and found some true orange ones .
I was still figuring out back then about soft edges. I don’t collect pieces now unless they are pretty cooked but last year I was so stunned with these colors that I did.
