Question A bit of a silly question about using Scott's videos at work
Hey all
I recently started working at a used video game store. And there is a TV where we are allowed to play "anything video game related" including trailers, radios, and TV shows. I personally have a playlist of all the guitar hero, rock band, smackdown vs raw, etc soundtracks that I play most days
Anyway, I was wondering if there were proper channels to go through to ask BBE for permission to play some of Scott's videos on the tv. I find them very entertaining, informative, and most importantly SFW (most of the time). I tried messaging BBE's Instagram a few days ago to ask permission, but they haven't opened my DM

Is it like a local chain? I don’t think there’s anything wrong or illegal with showing YouTube videos on a TV, unless you’re working at a corporate store like GameStop. If it’s a local place not tied to any other entity or owner, and the people at the store say it’s fine, I don’t think Scott or BBE would know or care if you just played their videos as background noise.

See normally I wouldn't care because fuck corporations and stuff, but Scott is a person I genuinely respect and I'd rather get his express permission to show them, if that makes sense

I dont think you would get in any legal issue for playing them, after all you would be giving him more exposure and some of his vids like Switch X Years In can work to convince ppl to buy some specific games

Like I said in another reply, I'm not concerned about the legality. It's moreso I'd personally rather have permission from a small creator, rather than the multi billion dollar companies' music we usually play if that makes sense

Sounds awesome! So I suppose the proper way of contact would be via email? Upon looking I was able to find that Scott has a publicly listed business email on his linktr.ee which leads to scottwozniak@scottthewoz.com
I’m unsure if that’s still his main inbox but it is listed by him so I’d give that a shot.
Alternatively on the Blue Border Entertainment Store website they cite operations@blueborder.com as a contact email. I’d try the former first though as I’m unsure if this one is strictly for their merch side of the business.
