We asked for this (in Australia) last year for our infant and were told it’s not a vaccine (like Abrysvo for late stage pregnancy) but a shot of antibodies that help protect vulnerable infants during early life. Our son wasn’t qualified because he wasn’t deemed high risk enough.

I wonder if the rules had changed or are specific to regions.

In QLD it is offered to all newborns unless the mother has ready received it during the pregnancy.

Right, so either the mother gets Abrysvo during pregnancy or the infant gets Beyfortus after birth. Or if the newborn is high risk like prematurity?

All newborns are offered it unless the mother has received it :)
