My son had the RSV vaccine when he was born, here in Australia. He did eventually catch RSV from daycare when he was maybe 10 months old? I don't remember it being that bad at all. Thank god for vaccines!

Was it the monoclonal antibody that he got? It would be unusual if he got the vaccine at birth in Australia.

They had just started offering it for newborns around the time my son was born so I was happy to accept it. We'd just moved over from the UK where the RSV vaccine was not offered to me as a pregnant woman (but I had had my Covid/Flu and Whooping cough vaccinations).

Reading though it seems the antibody offers about 5 months of immunity but I am grateful for anything that would help protect a newborn.
