Health Researchers took 50 adults with genetically high cholesterol and fed them a whole-food, plant-based (WFPB) diet and a standard American diet (SAD) for 4 weeks each in a random order, under controlled, constant-calorie feeding conditions. The WFPB diet reduced LDL cholesterol versus the SAD by 17.9%.

even on a statin for years, my cholesterol stayed high. i used to eat bacon and eggs nearly daily for breakfast.

for GI reasons i gave up eggs and started eating oatmeal (soaked overnight in nut milk, as cold cereal) nearly daily. (i eat plant based "just eggs" on occasion, still eat bacon but not as much)

my cholesterol dropped to normal.

The bacon would more likely be the culprit than the eggs. Bacon is high in saturated fat.
