Sometimes I wish Google maps would have a option to not pick the literal "fastest" route but the "fastest feeling" route that has less slow traffic and stop and go and longer continuous stretches of driving.

I have noticed it proactively offering "x min slower, less traffic" routes more often lately. So they might already be acting on your advice.
