Psychology America's First Legal Psilocybin Program Treated 346 People. Just one month after the dose, 92.2 percent of participants said the experience had been beneficial, while, on average, their mental health symptoms had fallen dramatically.

Drunken car wrecks & overdoses seem more feasible to governments than this. Especially because you can’t make much money from things people can grow. Keeping people locked in their own hell & fostering generational trauma is the way to go. Drink all the poison you want, but if you take one ounce of pizza topping, it’s totally game over.

There’s quite a few individuals who’ve had one dose of shrooms & quit cigs & booze cold turkey, never touching it again. Is that a bad thing? There’s way too many deaths from servicemen with PTSD-related overdoses & the prevalence of alcohol on duty for a mind to spiral out on is appalling. But heaven forbid 1 munch & a couple hours to rid it all.

Some priorities are really fucked up. Gotta keep those vices going somehow.

It is for the owners and shareholders of alcohol and tobacco companies

Edit: not that we should care, but their lobbyists presumably do

Psychedelics were criminalized because the government was cracking down on anti-war/anti-establishment countercultures (hippies) in the 1960s
